I just went to their web site. Does anyone have info on them? I can actually get a RT ticket from anywhere to Orlando for 13.00? Please tell me this is wrong. That is WAY too good to be true. 13.00? That's insane, & how come I had never heard of this place? I must be reading the whole thing wrong. Thanks for anybody having info on this. Cristen

They have fees that are tacked on to your bid. If you look at the bottom of the auction page you will see them.

some of the extra taxes and fees range from $55 to $80 and then they add more fees if you want to fly on the weekend etc.

hth,
Amanda

there are other fees tacked on...so it is not quite 13$ service fee and processing fees are two of them....but others may be single supplement etc.....

some hotel bids are 10$ per night but when you add the 32$ a night service charge and processing fee it is more like 45$ a night

good results on skyauction can be achieved for "timeshare" condos that are surplus to inventory of RCI....you essentially get the same time share that an owner would have paid up to 700$ ( intial costs + maintenance fees + rci membership + rci exchange fee ) for as low as 211$ based on 1$ bid

ok, thanks. I saw that the taxes & fees or whatever were 85.00. But I still thought a RT ticket for even a 100.00 in great. I can't find anything out of Denver to Orlando for less than 300.00. & with 5 flying, that adds up really quick. I was just hoping that I had found a way to save some money for the big trip. We don't have Southwest here & fares are soooo expensive out of this state. One more question, after the fees are there any other catches to bidding. I went to their FAQ but it didn't tell me much. Would I be better off going to Priceline or something? Thanks again. Cristen

The bid might be $13 right now, but those airline tickets usually shoot up right before the auction ends to over $200 plus the fees from what I've seen. I ahven't been following SkyAuction for a very long time, but I've never seen one go for a better price thatn I've been able to get on sale directly from the airline.

Now I think it would be good to have for a last minute trip or if you were flying from Alaska or another place that it's usually expensive to fly out of.

As a rule, the more restricted the flight, the more likely you are to get a good deal. Those "fly anywhere" tickets are never a good deal but "fly to London in March" tickets can be excellent deals.

Also good are the timeshares (as mentioned above) and the package deals.
