I am interesting on bidding on sheraton resorts. I know you have to pay the `$195.00 fee, the bid amount, is there any other fees. Does this included taxes ands resort fees? Also, does anyone know if maid service is included?
Sorry for all the questions, but I never did this before. :goodvibes

Yes, there are other fees. There is a $15 document fee (where they charge you to "print" out your own paper work) & some of the bids have a "surcharge", "seasonal charge" or "upgrade fee" ...just read each auction carefully. All of the extra charges are stated on the auction except for the $15 doc fee. Taxes are included in the $195. As far as resort fee's if the resort charges one, SkyAuction will let you know on the bidding site & they will be in additional to the $195. There are no hidden fee's with SkyAuction. As far as maid service, if you are bidding on a timeshare resort, they do not have "free" maid service. If you want something like that, you will have to let them know at the resort & pay them directly. I want to say most charge somewhere around $25-$40 per day.... to me it isn't worth it. I can live with tiding up. If there is anything else you need to know just ask... if I can help I will.. SkyAuction is a good (honest) site...good luck bidding... :earsgirl:

Sharon

thank you so much. Another question - do you know if you can check out a day early? We only want to stay 6 or 7 days. I am always so scared to try something different. :sunny:

Yes, you can check out anytime you want. We stayed at the Vistana last October through SkyAuction and left a day early. All you had to do is give your room card to the guys at the security gate. Good luck!

I just thought of another question. The date I need is available in the auction, if I win the bid would I be guaranteed that date? I am afraid if I win the bid, they week would be gone by the time I call the confirm. I have to pay an extra 125.00 for a bigger unit for the week I need. It would still be a great deal.

You aren't charged for your auction until skyauction confirms your ressie with the resort. If the week you request isn't available, you aren't charged, or you can elect to wait and use the credit for another auction.
I've won twice and have gotten both of my 1st choice dates.
Good luck!

Just checked back today and now the date we need is not available, I guess I will have to just keep checking every day or two. :sad1:

When I want to use SkyAuction, I check it every day & watch the auctions. I watch & see what the final bid ends up & how many times the same auction keeps comming up... then I do my bidding. I once won an auction that had my dates when I bid, by the time it was over & I won.... the dates were gone! SkyAuction didn't charge my credit card & I was not bound to anything. Another time I won & when I went to put in my preference of where I wanted to stay... it was one of the choose your resort ones. I had asked for Orange Lake, which even at the end of the auction, it was still showing with my dates... they ended up not having it, so I stayed at WestGate Villa's & that one was not even on the auction site, yet came up when they were searching for me...

Okay...I have a question. I won a week at Vacation Villages at Parkway to visit in July. We have friends that are staying in their timeshare there at the same time. I was happy with what I paid, didn't get the lowest price it has gone for, but not the highest.

I would like (but it is not a necessity by any means) to have the unit with the full kitchen. I am happy with what I have, but was wondering if you can upgrade directly with the resort when you win it through SkyAuction? I am just curious about this......it won't ruin my trip or hurt my feelings if I can't.

THANKS EVERYONE!

You cannot upgrade with SkyAuction unless they state it in the auction listing. You can try & I say "try" to do it at the resort. I know I tried to upgrade at WestGate Villa's from the regular 2 bedroom to the loft 2 bedroom & they told me that was not what my unit was.... I think it is different than the way a regular hotel works it.. I could be wrong though....but I am not wrong on the SkyAuction part... I know you cannot upgrade with them unless it is stated in the auction...

Thanks for the reply. I thought that was probably the case, but it was worth asking the question. I am happy with what I have, or I wouldn't have bid on it. It just would have been nice. I guess the extra $$$$ can go toward "fun"! I am estimating I saved over $300 using SkyAuction than if I had to book a room of any kind close by. I am a happy camper whether I have a kitchen or not!
