Sky Auction and last minute bidding...

Okay Sky Auction experts...I've got a question for you! Has anyone ever bid on and won a last minute hotel/resort auction with a checkin date only a few days (say, 4-5) days away?? Have you ever done this from a remote location...say, when you were already at your vacation destination?

Here's why I ask: We have already successfully bid on a week (Orange Lake--can't wait ), but we'll be there for 2 weeks and the second week isn't coming up on the RSG auctions yet and it may not...Our plan is to have back up ressies at another resort, but try to bid if something comes up on the regular auctions while we're down there. Last time we got our certificate via email, but we won't be able to do that if we are successful in this last minute effort.

Any ideas/experience regarding how Sky Auction handles this?

Last Labory Day we had a reservation for a week at a hotel and won an auction a few days out for a stay at Westgate Lakes. The dates were specific though, it was check in on this date, at this resort so there was no choice of inventory.

I am not sure I would go with a RSG that close. The inventory stated is not always 100% accurate. We just got back from a week at Vacation Village at Parkway, over the 4th, and when I won the auction there were a few options for the dates we wanted and my first choice, which stated availability on the auction, was not available when I went to book the resort so we ended up at Vacation Village. Out problem was we were locked into specific dates but it worked out good in the end.

The easiest way would still be email, or you can try calling them but that is not always an easy option. You can always find a kinkos or internet cafe once your in Orlando to get your email and print it up. Kinkos being a first choice knowing that some people have a hard time printing the .tif files from skyauction.

If your isp does not offer email access via the web then sign up for yahoo/hotmail and access your pop account from there to print up the info from skyauction.

Good look on finding a resort.
