I always considered skirted bathing suits something "old ladies wore" but I decided to get one for the purpose of mowing the lawn and being able to jump in the pool intermittantly. I found one I really liked and the skirt is a good idea except for swimming and sun bathing, then it seems to be in the way. I found a smallish fabrick covered hair elastic, the puffing kind in a corrodinaing colors and used it to gather up the skirt on the side. You can make the entire skirt look like a sash or let it drape in the back. Either way, it works. When you want to mow the lawn, or run to the front yard to get the mail, don't bother with the cover up. Take the elastic off. Thought I would share. :D

That's a good idea, Dawn.

I just bought a skirted tankkini from Land's End, and wore it on vacation two weeks ago. I'm at the age now where the tops and backs of my thighs certainly don't need to be seen by the public, and the little skirt covers the cellulite nicely! I even took line dancing lessons in front of an entire cruise ship while wearing it. The extra added coverage seemed to give me a little extra courage---although it also could've been the Mango Tangos I'd been imbibing!:drinking1

Aaaaaack VH!:crazy2: That looks like an old uniform that the majorettes in our high school used to wear waaaaaay back in the early 80's! I guarantee that I looked much cuter in my tankini! Hmmmmm...but maybe that's the Mango Tangos talking again! :drinking: :rolleyes1

Me too! I think that they are great for water parks as well.

Oh, VH!:) I'm saying *regardless* of what you wear, I'm sure you're the most charming, fetching and masculine of all Vanquishers from across The Pond! ...And I just love a man in a nice polyester/lycra blend! :charac4:
