I always considered skirted bathing suits something "old ladies wore" but I decided to get one for the purpose of mowing the lawn and being able to jump in the pool intermittantly. I found one I really liked and the skirt is a good idea except for swimming and sun bathing, then it seems to be in the way. I found a smallish fabrick covered hair elastic, the puffing kind in a corrodinaing colors and used it to gather up the skirt on the side. You can make the entire skirt look like a sash or let it drape in the back. Either way, it works. When you want to mow the lawn, or run to the front yard to get the mail, don't bother with the cover up. Take the elastic off. Thought I would share. 
That looks like an old uniform that the majorettes in our high school used to wear waaaaaay back in the early 80's! I guarantee that I looked much cuter in my tankini!
Hmmmmm...but maybe that's the Mango Tangos talking again! 
I'm saying *regardless* of what you wear, I'm sure you're the most charming, fetching and masculine of all Vanquishers from across The Pond! ...And I just love a man in a nice polyester/lycra blend!
