SkIpPiNg SkOoL fOr FrEe DiNiNg!!! (Update Sept 20 ~ 1 more day!)

I have been terrible at writing this PTR! :worried:
I was so busy with end of school year activities and we are having a busy summer. We went to the beach the 1st week that school was out with family. Then, Brad & I chaperoned our church’s Middle School Beach Camp. That was a experience with 30 6th grade girls in one room, with a bathroom that only had two sinks & ONE electrical outlet! :crazy2:

Lexi is at a volleyball clinic right now. I’m trying to catch up with my PTR while I’m sitting here watching her in a building that has no air conditioning, and it feels like it is 120 degrees in here! And, no joke, it probably is over 100.
Alexis wants to make her school’s volleyball team & try-outs are next month.

I have made some BIG changes in our WDW trip.
My kids have really wanted to stay at POP. I had read that rooms became available for it after I originally booked.
I ran the figures and thought I could switch to POP and add a extra day at a cheaper price than I was paying.
I called & switched our reservations to POP and added a extra day to our stay. It was cheaper than our original reservation, but not as cheap as I had calculated. I forgot about that you have to pay to upgrade to regular dining when you stay at value. My blonde moment.
As soon as I hung up the phone with the CM, I had buyers remorse & immediately called back and said that I changed my mind & I wanted to rebook back at POFQ. The CM checked & said it was already taken & there were no free dining rooms left at POFQ. I guess I helped someone have a magical day by getting a POFQ room.
I was a little disappointed until I told Lexi & Levi. They are very estatic that they are staying at POP.
Having a smaller room will not phase me because we’re never in the room. But, the thing I will miss the most is the covered bus stops!!! I hate standing in the heat waiting for the bus. And, I was excited about other Disboard friends staying at POFQ at the same time.
I will stay at POFQ on our next trip.

I am also adding the Waterparks & More to our reservation, but I have not done that yet. We did not go to the waterparks on our last trip, but we went in 2008 and LOVED it! Lexi & Levi are very excited that we are going back.

So, my changes have been:

Switching to POP from POFQ
Adding an extra day
Having another restaurant to book for our added night
Adding Water Parks & More

Levi shooting fireworks on July 4th. I have a friend that lives in Mass. & he said he has never seen boys wearing tall socks with slides until he came to SC beach this summer. But, that seems to be the thing with boys here.

We loved Pop last year. You will have a great time, I am sure. One thing people seem not to like about the Values is the lack of slides in the swimming pool but you got that covered by adding water parks.

Do you plan on going to Disney Quest too?

So which restaurant did you chose to go on your extra day?

I think we will love Pop!
We do plan on going to Disney Quest. The kids (and Brad) love it there!

Right now I have 50's Prime Time booked. I may change it, I just cannot decide where I want to go.
I have to keep checking the dining reservation page because there is not too much available anymore.

Glad to see you back:wave2:

You will love Pop and I know the kids must be so excited! Great pics of the kids....we noticed a lot of boys with Levi's "fashion" sense this summer when we were in the world and Shanleigh said, it must be the latest style down here:rotfl2: I will be able to tell her she was right!

Great changes, it really helps that the kids are so excited to stay at POP! The extra day more than makes up for it!! :)

We've never done water parks---yet. DH is not huge on water parks and we figure we'll wait until the baby is old enough to do the slides with us. Maybe another 4 years ;) Although we did just watch a show last night about the world's best water parks and DH was into it so ya never know.

I can't believe how much older the kids look!! Beautiful pics!

Welcome here! I love having twins too! It's hard when they're little, but so much easier when they are older having the same homework & test. And, it's like they always have a best friend to play with! :)
How is the temps when you go in April/May? It is still very hot when we go in September.

The temps are awesome ! 70's in the morning and low to mid 80's in the afternoon. Last trip we had no rain to speak of .. it was just blissful. But it can be hit or miss with the rain (and temps) but this is the weather we've encountered the past few years during that time period. :thumbsup2

I agree, twins are a bit hard those first years .. but I'm enjoying mine SO much now that they are older ! :lovestruc

Hi Queen! The kids are excited about Pop.
Funny about Shanliegh noticing the boys with tall socks. When you're not used to it, it stands out. It took me forever to get used to it!

We love, love waterparks!
I would definately wait until the baby is old enough to go on slides. Maybe by then your DH would be up for it!

We may have to try going during that time on our next trip.
I want to take my mom & dad one day with us, but I know they would not be able to handle the heat/humidity all day in September.

Hi Amy glad to see you back and planning another trip!

Will have to come back and catch up later on in the week but just thought I'd post and subscribe so I don't forget! :)

I am glad the kids are so excited, and although you couldn't change back, at least you have another Disney Day! I love POFQ, though, so I don't know that I would trade an extra day for that beatiful resort, LOL! I am sure a kid would be willing to do it, though!

Hi Tanz! I'm glad you are here! :flower3:

And, at least it gives me an excuse to book another trip in the future, to stay POFQ ;)

Pop is a great resort, I'm sure you'll enjoy it! The uncovered bus stops can get to be a bit much in the heat, but hopefully you have great bus mojo the entire time! :goodvibes Plus, there is a bench sorta behind the queue, so Brad and the kids can wait, while you hang in the shade! ;)

Those are definitely some exciting changes!! Sorry that you had remorse about switching to Pop, but glad that the kids are excited...that always makes a difference! I love Pop...seeing all the different icons is so cool to me! We've only stayed there once, but really enjoyed it! And you can't beat being able to add an extra day, so :thumbsup2 for that!! I'm also excited to hear that you're planning to add the Waterpark and more feature! Mike and I love the waterparks...I know y'all will have a blast there. Are you planning to visit both?

Your changes look great! It is always fun to pick more dining! Where did you end up picking?

Thanks!
I have reserved 50's Prime Time right now.
I want to eat with the princesses, but nothing is available.
If something becomes available, I will change.

I noticed on some POP pics after my post that they do have some benches at the bus stop. I did not realize they had that. When we stayed at All-Star Sports, there was no bench at the bus stop.
I will most certainly be sitting on the bench while Brad & the kids wait in the line! :thumbsup2

I remember your TR on POP & it makes me excited about staying there seeing your pictures.
We will go to both waterparks. We love different things at both that it would make it hard for us to pick just one to visit.

:wave2: Hey! I'm joining in (a little late haha) and subbing! I lurked on your last trip report and loved it! Your trip looks like so much fun! Can't wait to here about it! :cool1:

Hey! We just returned from two weeks in WDW and Cocoa Beach, and I'm all caught up :goodvibes Your kids are so gorgeous! Can't wait to hear more about the trip! My husband ended up not being able to come with us due to work issues, so we're looking at possibly a Thanksgiving trip at Pop or POFQ :thumbsup2

Hello! :wave2: Followed your link from my PTR :) I'm all caught up and excited for the rest! :goodvibes

Awww, I hate that your DH missed your trip!
I've never been to a FL beach before & would love to one day.
Will you do a TR?
How is Fantasyland looking?
