Skipper Canteen officially changes menu

The big scary "dumbed down" menu debuted today at the skipper canteen. Not much has changed. Only one dish was removed (fish collar) and, several items were tweaked or renamed. For example, Skips Mac and Cheese became Skips Beefy Pasta and became more of a baked pasta casserole with the same flavors. Nothing really groundbreakingly different. Added two new dishes as well; a cold asain noodle salad app and, a whole fried lion fish. No official change on the mdx menu or blog post yet.

The online menu no longer has fish collars and does have whole,fried fish, but just says "latest catch". I'll be thrilled if it's lionfish, as it's a somewhat exotic fish that's reportedly kosher and difficult to confuse.

Good name change for the pasta. Calling it just mac and cheese was ridiculous. It might have mac and it might have cheese, but there was a big huge other thing in that dish.

Doesn't looked too dumbed down. The name change is clearly over silly complaints. I do see it looks like there are more kids options now? Maybe that is where they dumbed it down. I don't remember flank steak and crispy chicken but of course I didn't pay close attention to the kids menu prior.

It' not "dumbed down" at all to me. We ate their yesterday not knowing the menu was debuting on that day. Here is a few shots of the new menu and the items we ate for lunch. The favourite Mac n' Cheese was "redesigned" for lack of a better term into a Lasagna type/style dish. We did not order it but saw others that did. It looked pretty good to us.

I absolutely loved the mac & cheese. The menu picture makes it look kind of unappetizing, like it was made in a large casserole dish and you might get a not fresh piece. Hopefully some real life photos will come out.
