My mom texted me this morning to say that she was sitting down in the Mouse before work "surrounded by Skipper Canteen cast and chefs." Perhaps today is the day for a soft opening!

The Mouse is a large cafeteria area with fast food for CM's at the MK, for those wondering.
Really excited for any pics or additional details!!!

I will be heading to Magic Kingdom today to catch a photo shoot of some Dapper dressed ladies this afternoon at 2pm. I plan on heading to adventureland and checking it out. I will report back if I see any signs of opening.

You can also check me on periscope- I will be scoping the area so people can see it.

Could be cast testing or training. They were working quite a bit still late last week and with walls still being up I just don't see a soft opening happening just yet.

They're there because training started Sunday. I would doubt a soft opening would happen during their first week of training.

I think that the posters who said it was "open" only meant that ADRs were or would be open in the system. They can start ADRs for later next month without the restaurant being open yet. Plus, they probably won't even take ADRs for the first week(s).

I know, I was the one who reported on that a page ago. Perhaps it is nothing more than training really ramping up today, but that is some major progress. On Sunday, it was just a bunch of signs in the tunnels directing Canteen cast to their training. Today, it's en force. It could have been that way yesterday too, but my mom started work at 4am and wasn't in the mouse to see.

I agree that is progress. I was responding to your comment that "perhaps today is the day for a soft opening." I was just saying that was unlikely on day 4 of training.

Walls definitely still up but we looked over it from the tree house. Plan to go on our March trip

Really, really, really hope it's open soon since I head to the World in just 11 short days!! Yeah!! It would be nice to see something new when I go since I was just there this past February.

So on several days of my trip park hours are until midnight... Is that really right? I checked the Disneyland website but I'm just shocked the park is open that late.

Do crowds typically die down that late or? What should I expect?

I'm going 4-14th

I don't think you meant to post here? But parks are often open until midnight or later..

A bit off topic, but yes the more crowded a time period is, the more likely they will stay open late. We went Friday night to MK, it stayed open til 1pm. I love the late nights like that. It's cooler and the crowds empty out a lot after Wishes. You get some great shots of the castle and hub area. Do all your photo pass castle pics then. :)
Park will stay open another hour beyond closing time as well so don't rush out if you want to soak up the atmosphere.

I actually just realized I posted in the wrong thread! I thought this was the January check in thread, I had multiple threads I was reading so I probably opened this one by mistake.

It's funny because I had a moment where I thought why is everyone only discussing the restaurant and then I just dismissed it as maybe it opens in January.

Lol, sorry guys!

I hope it is open when we go 2nd week in January. Hoping it won't need an ADR like BOG for lunch - they will probably book up minutes after it is posted!

You will need an ADR. This is going to be Table Service.
