Skip a park

Oh, there's no doubt in my mind that MK is great for ALL ages. I'm just saying that I would not skip another park for it. We always do 4 day/4 night trips and rather spend a day at each park than skip one for two days at MK. Trust me, we would love two day (or even three) at MK, but, to us, its not worth giving up AK.

OP, you could always go for the park hopper!

P.S. MK is our favorite park!
Ok, you are forgiven!!! Hahaha! I don't like to skip any park for sure, but if I were only able to go for a short time frame (Please, no!), then I would skip AK for MK for sure. Just me though. Each time we have gone, we have only spent half a day there and covered nearly all of it, so it hasn't been our favorite, especially with the whole wanting to kill my mother thing happening there. We aren't drinkers, but we are seriously considering getting my mom sloshed so she will be more fun there. I probably should drink too so I can put up with her AK nonsense. I love my mom anywhere else in the world.

If I had to skip one park, it'd be DHS. It never really did anything for me. The only ride I really enjoy there is TOT.

I have always been surprised at this reaction to HS. My whole family loves it, and we usually dedicate 3 whole days at least for HS. I don't know why people don't like it! Maybe it is because I didn't go as a child, but my kids love it, so I am not sure that's it!

Let say you are going on a four day trip and want to do two days in MK, which park would you skip and why?

we always take a box in the bottom of our suitcases (we buy at say the Kroger or Meijers) it is already flat and we take our own tape and we do our labels that go on it before we leave home then take to the resort check in desk when we want to ship it and they charge now (didn't used to) and send it home.. we take two in case need but always need one to send home snacks we get and pretzels as WDW will not send food home from anywhere. the other box is for something that may not fit in suitcase...OOPS wrong one

My DS is only 6 & Epcot just doesn't hold his attention for long. I'd love to hit WS but he would be bored out of his mind. He's a thrill junkie & is all about the rides. I would go to MK every day if it was up to me!

Different people like different things, but skipping AK because you live near a zoo is like skipping the grocery store because you live near a gas station.

Hollywood Studios. There are a few things we like there such as the Beauty and the Beast Show but overall it's our least favorite park.

We would skip Animal Kingdom. While we like Animal Kingdom when asked our kids would always rather go to Hollywood Studios or Epcot over Animal Kingdom.

Hmmm. toss up - but probably HS. I love AK -the atmosphere, the rides, the shows, the themeing.

HS...I do LOVE TOT and I like GMR, TSM, etc. But the themeing isn't there. And the atmosphere is seriously lacking, IMO...

Animal Kingdom for us too. We're going to hit it on arrival day for a few hours before heading over to Epcot. We only have three things on our checklist though: Lion King, Nemo, and lunch at the Tusker House, so at least it might be a relaxing day. When DH and I have an adults only trip, that will be the park to skip.

For a 4 day trip....yeah, I'd have to say no Animal Kingdom. Magic Kingdom and Epcot are our 2 favorite parks and some of our favorite attractions/shows are at Hollywood Studios....Animal Kingdom is our least favorite park. We normally do much longer trips than 4 days and set aside some time for Animal Kingdom as there are some things we do really enjoy. If we were to do a 4 day trip I would much rather spend my time in the other parks.

personally I would skip Epcot on my next trip but that is only because test track will be down when I am there but I am a fan of every park for different reasons. If I were you I would just flip a coin between AK and HS since you sadi Epcot was a must for you.

We are actually doing this. We will be hopping but we are leaving AK out. I don't really like anything there and DBF could really care less if we skip it as well. LOL That gives us more time for MK and EPCOT, as well as time for DHS. :thumbsup2

I would skip HS, that park does nothing for me. RnRC is great but I'm afraid of ToT :lmao:

I've never been to AK because its the park my family always voted to skip on past trips. Not this time though! This time I finally won!

In all honesty though if you have hoppers I would spend half a day at HS and the rest of that day at MK for your 2nd MK day. HS has always been a half-day park for us.

I don't think I could; I'd get a park hopper and do DHS and AK on the same day in order to have two MK days. Or, more likely, do DHS and AK early on two different days, and then head over to MK for both evenings, for a total of one full day and two evenings in MK.

The worst thing is I am one of those photography people and I am afraid to miss something good. Kilimanjaro sounds nice and the pictures look nice but I would also like to hit the Backlot Tour and get the special characters they have by the Animators. I was taking pics outside Star Tours but it stared to rain and I missed a few shots that I wanted to have, BUT the Tigers were being fussy when we went and were just laying on their sides faced away from the window.

Oh it is hard but I am not doing the park hopper, trying to save a bit of cah. The half day at the MK is because we are coming from the car after an all night trip to hit a couple key rides before we relax at the hotel and then take the boat down to DTD.

We've skipped DAK on our last two visits. DD #1 just doesn't enjoy it...she's absolutely an animal lover, but says she'd much rather spend the afternoon at the local zoo where she can really be hands on.

I don't believe any true animal lovers would prefer a local zoo to DAK. Sorry, but when people say that I just don't believe it.

We would skip HS. We don't like Muppets or the lame/outdated "Great" Movie Ride. I enjoy ToT, TSMM, RnRC but if I have to skip a park this is the one. The overall theming and atmosphere do not stack up to the other parks.

I completely agree. I hate zoos, I find them incredibly depressing, but I LOVE AK. It's Disney's most beautiful park, and I love the animal treks and the safari ride. I definitely feel "closer" to the animals there than I have at any zoo I've ever been at!

I'd definitely skip HS if I had to. It only has a handful of attractions worth my time, I wouldn't really miss it on a short trip!

You may not believe that a true animal lover would prefer a local zoo, but for us it is true. For years we were at the local (65 miles from our house) zoo several times a month. Now that Anna is in school full time we only get there every couple of months or so.

Here's why my daughter prefers the local zoo, because she actually gets to take her time looking at the animals. And she doesn't have to wait 45 minutes to look at the animals. The Kilimanjaro Safaris® Expedition is nice, but you don't get to take your time and really look at and talk about the animals. We often spend five hours or more at the zoo and don't even cover the majority of the animals. Anna likes to spend at least 30 minutes per animal and it doesn't matter if she was just there the week before. She has her favorite animals and she just likes to see them and be around them.

We did like some of the shows, but you can see shows at any of the other parks as well so it just didn't seem special to us. I don't know I just didn't feel the "magic" at AK. The dino land seemed like a cheap steet carnival. To us, and feel free to disagree, but AK didn't seem to stack up well to the other parks.

we'd also skip AK - but we skip AK even when we're there 9 nights...

prefer to spend most of our time at EP, followed by MK and then HS

I guess this is why I like DAK so much, I like to wander through the oasis area and look at the animals, and then visit maharajah jungle trek and look at the tigers and bats and monkeys, and the birds. Pagani offers yet another venue for slow paced observation and photography. I like to take the train out to rafiki to see those animals and listen to the speakers. I like the tamarins out there. Then the safari is awesome way to end it. It is an all day experience.

Then if I am lucky I will also catch DeVine.
