My cousin bought them in Jan when she was here visiting us in San Diego. :sunny: She said she had wanted them for awhile and found the best price here. Anyway, she loves them. I will have to email her and ask if they are working out for her. But I think living in Rochester, NY, she has not had allot of opportunity to walk outside. :cold:

I just got them, too. They are SO ugly!:rotfl: They haven't worked yet, but the weather has been terrible here.

my dd is a pharmasy tech and stands on her feet all day,her boyfriend bought her a pair and she loves them, but they are ugly. i would never pay 100 bucks for them.

I have a pair I bought from Avon two years ago. They were $29.99 on sale, they now sell for $39.99-$49.99 depending on the campaign. They are the Curves shoes.
I don't feel them working unless I really concentrate on how I walk. You have to make sure to walk heel -toe. Use the entire bottom of the shoe, don't just step and step off the other foot. When I concentrate on how I walk I really do feel the difference.
I wear them every day because they really do help with my neuropathy. I havent' had as much foot numbness when I have them on. Crocs also work for neuropathy.
I am due for another pair and am going to try the Payless brand because I just can't afford $100 for shoes.

I think all Skechers are hideous. But I am intrigued by those Shape-Ups shoes, and I simply must stare at the mushy, squishy bottoms when people are walking in them. I wish they'd make some that didn't look like Skechers .

I tried them on, but my feet pronate and they did not have enough arch support.

I also tried on some MBT shoes that are like the sketchers - - they were comfy but $249.00 :scared1:.

But I finally found some other tennis shoes for $50 that were just as comfy for WDW thank goodness!!

I don't have the Sketcher's, but the Danskin Now that you can get at WallyWorld for $25. They are super comfortable and have great support!! I would buy them again in a heartbeat. And, no, I do not consider them attractive at all. I only wear them to work. There isn't a day goes by that at least a couple of my patient's parents ask me about them. I tell them the same thing I just told you guys.

I have a pair of the mary jane style that I wear to work. They aren't quite as ugly;) I love them. I don't know if they have helped much...but they are very comfortable.

I own the Shape-Ups and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I don't think they are ugly at all. In fact, I get an extra couple inches of HEIGHT (Woohoo~!~!) and I can feel them working my legs. I ran (well, walked briskly) around WDW in Feb. with them on everyday. This was the ONLY trip where I didn't get blisters or sore feet. It felt like I was gliding.......

Truly the best pair of tennis shoes I have ever owned.

Don't hold your breath about being cellulite free by Friday.....ROFL ;)

I bought a pair of the Avia and they are very comfortable. These are the first pair of sneakers I can actually wear all day and my feet won't hurt.

I thought of the Skechers but they were too ugly. The Avia's are all white so they don't stand out as much.

How is the tread life on Shape ups? The treads seem kind of small and shallow. I would be afraid of the tread not even lasting 6 months.

I have 2 pair. I wear the Mary Jane's to work everyday, and I have the black lace up's that I use as my after work walking shoe.
I LOVE these shoes. They have made my walking posture much better. As a PP stated, you do need to walk correctly in them. The shoes come with instructions. I wore my lace up's on a hilly walk last week and my backside and back of my thighs ached all week :rotfl: Guess I need to do more hilly walks!

I got these on sale at Kohls for $70 (I had the sought after 30% off code)

I have only had mine since Christmas and I don't wear them everywhere. I think I will wear them more once spring actually arrives here.

They survived Disney..........and I walked miles and miles in these shoes!

So far, they are still perfect!

I wouldn't wear these to walk around Disney World. By design, they create a very unstable walking surface (that big squishy sole) which forces your leg muscles to compensate. I would think that something more supportive would be better for WDW walking.

As far as fat loss and cellulite reduction... I don't think you'll see more of that than you would with regular shoes (if your activity level remains the same). You need to do some cardio to burn the fat. Any muscle toning you would get from the Skechers wouldn't be enough to really burn a significant amount of fat.

Bottom line - these aren't miracle shoes that will do wonderous things without any additional effort from you.

I recently bought MBT's, Skechers, and FitFlops. Nothing holds a candle to MBT's, as expensive as they are. I got my pair for about $180 :scared1: on Amazon, but better than from the direct website.

They have much more rocking motion, and force you to maintain proper posture. The only imbalance I have experienced has been going down stairs. I highly recommend them.

The Skechers don't have nearly the rocking, and the FitFlops even less, although they're both comfortable.

due to a rare muscle disease I'm learning how to walk again. I was stuck in bed for 2 years, so my calf muscles are shot. Now that I'm in remission, I'm ready to get stronger again. I've been wearning Sketcher Shape-Ups for about 5 months now. I LOVE THESE SHOES! My calves are toner and I feel more secure when I walk. They also allow me to stand up straighter when walking and it takes the pressure off my back. I swear by these shoes, they were worth the $110!:thumbsup2

I also wanted to mention that I bought my Shape-Ups from Kohls with a 30% off code. This brought the final price down to $70.

I believe Kohls is having that sale again at the end of the month.
