I'm totally new to the whole Universal Studios idea (I'm a WDW person), so please don't mock me. In my opinion, one of the best parts of Disney World is that the rides are size-friendly. My husband and I are overweight and are able to ride everything at WDW. We've visited other local theme parks in Ohio and haven't been able to ride much of anything. We're not outrageously overweight, but evidently enough that it's an issue. So, after all that, here's the question: what are the rides like at Universal/IOA? Are we facing the same problems that we have at our Ohio parks, or are they comparable to WDW? Thanks!

I'm Shrek sized also and Universal have Shrek size seating on all there rides!!

You'll probably be okay on Hulk, but I'm not sure about Dragons. They do have test seats, so there's nothing for you to worry about. I doubt you'll be getting on Ripsaw Falls though. Other than that, they do try to accomodate larger folks.

My sons are both big guys, and one was able to ride in regular seats, but the other had to use the modified seats. They we both able to ride everything at US and IOA.

What can't you ride at Cedar Point?

I am interested in this answer, too. My sons want to take a trip to Cedar Point this summer. I'd like to know if they will have any issues on the rides.

Several of the roller coasters were too tight for my husband, and the ride operators wouldn't let him ride. I don't remember the names--we haven't been there for over 5 years.
For the coasters...there is test seating out front so make sure you try them out. Once you get to the actual train, there is a "big boy" seat in row 3 & 6 on each train for Dueling Dragons and Hulk...it's the seat with the two buckles. On Revenge of the Mummy the back room is usually for larger guests due to the amount of leg room available. I'm not sure about the Rockit since I haven't ridden that one.

I think Rockit is actually the tightest fit now at Universal. But that also has modified seating.

Of course, it always depends on your body dimensions but definitely ask the team members for help or for modified seating. I've always seen them be very helpful.

I am a big guy and really don't have a problem with the rides except for dueling dragons

I wear size 48 pants and carry most of my weight in my stomach and I was unable to ride the Hulk or dragons and i just barely fit in Doctor Doom and the Mummy.

DH wears a size 3x/4x, carrying most of his weight in his upper body. Very broad shoulders and tummy weight. Is it worth him even going to Universal???? Im a 2x - what about me?

Isnt it embarassing to try the seats out in front of everyone? What if you do need the bigger seats - how do you nonchallently ask for them??????

Thanks so much!! We are trying to decide if we should go to US/IOA with the rest of our family.

Anyone have any ideas on seaworld rides?????

You shouldn't need to ask for the seats. The TMs working the loading area will know that larger people need to be put in a specific row just by looking at them.

The 2 problem rides are Millenium Force, Top Thrill Dragster. I have heard a lot of people get turned away from those 2 rides. Wicked Twister and Raptor may also be a problem (Raptor does not have the larger seats that Dragons and Hulk have).

Im a 2x and my friend is a 3x and we were able to get on all the rides we wanted at IOA. We don't do rollercoasters so not sure.
