Size of Saratoga Springs?

Just spoke to a guide and he was telling me that when fully completed that SS would be over 600 units in size, bigger than OKW!! He was saying that sales would probably take 5 to 6 years to sell out. I wonder if Eagle Pines is now in jeporday? Has anyone else heard from other sources about size of the complex at SS. He also was saying that because of size and location that point structure would be in line , if not a little higher than OKW.I did not realize that Disney institute is now defunct and that leaves DVD with a tremendous amount of property that already has ammenities on site like plumbing and sewers.

Interested on what other people have heard?

We just got back and could see the site from our room. This resort is the disney instatute resort, plus new units being built. We were told that the treehouses and townhouses and all of them will be part of it. So in a word, huge!

Just to state the obvious: if your information is correct, then Eagle Pines is out of the picture for the foreseeable future. As in "dead".

I can't answer your questions, but since you've bumped this I thought I'd mention that Doc is at OKW right now, posting reports of his surveillance around SSR, and planning to post pictures. You may want to keep an eye out for his posts for updates relevant to your questions here.

I'm curious to learn the answers, also.

I wouldn't use the term "dead" -- I'd say the the Eagle Pines project is "frozen." I remains to be seen if the Eagle Pines project is thawed out in the future.

A time will come later in this decade when SSR approaches sell-out. At that time, DVD will want to have another DVC resort available for sales (as long as Disney's timeshare business remains profitable).

They've already invested millions on plans for Eagle Pines. The site is on the WDW master plan as a DVC resort, and there's no reason to believe that the master plan has changed. I wouldn't be surprised if they dust off the plans, just tweaking them to reflect changing tastes and what they've learned at SSR.
