Size of rental vehicles

We have only rented minivans when we travel. We also own minivans so that is what we are used to. We leave in 2 weeks!! My mom is coming with us and we are renting a scooter for her. The company will drop it off at OKW and pick it back up when we leave. The scooter will NOT fit in the back of a minivan. However, I have been told it will fit in full size vehicles or bigger. What should we rent? There will be 5 of us altogether (3 adults, 2 kids). We pack a lot!! I question if a full size will be big enough for all of us plus luggage. A full size is only $139! A premium (Grand Marquis or similar) is $214. Big difference! However, the premium is actually only $14 more then the minivan was going to cost us. Should we just get that? Am I going to feel like I am driving a tank?! lol I haven't driven a car in 10 years. I guess I really like vans! Thanks.

Where are you planning to rent the car, at MCO? Which company? The fulll size Dodge Intrepid at Dollar ($139 a week without a code) has a very large trunk, same size as their premium car, the Chrysler Concorde ($209 a week with promo code D2). I guess you would have to compare trunk size if possible. We rented a Cadillac from Avis in August and the trunk was not much bigger than the Dodge Intrepid.
