Hi! I'm new! (I've been lurking here for some time, but this is my first post)

I am going to WDW (MK, DAK, Epcot, and MGM) next week and am having worries about something I was wondering if any of you could help.

My husband is a big guy (6ft, 275 lbs) and is concerned about not fitting in some of the rides. Any knowledge about which rides are tight that might be a problem for him would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi there!

I'm 6'2", and weighed 352 pounds when I went in January of 2002. I can honestly say that there was NOTHING that I couldn't do because of my size.

Allearsnet.com has a section about this very issue here.

Have a fantastic trip!

My DH is 6'3", 210lb, and the only ride he's ever had trouble fitting on was Goofy's Barnstormer in MK. He barely got his legs to fit on that one! He also had some trouble the first time he rode RocknRollerCoaster, but it was because he was nervous and pulled the shoulder bar down too tight. The next time he rode it, he made sure he didn't pull the shoulder bar down so tight and he didn't have any more trouble.

MC...........I'm certain that your husband will be fine on just about everything but the Kiddie rides........my DFIL is a little taller and a little heavier........and he rides everything with us....................

You'll be fine...........

:earsboy: WELCOME to the DIS mc6pack :earsboy:

Hubby should be okay on everything but those kid rides!

Y'all have a magical trip!!!::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

My husband is 6'11 and 275lbs...he hasn't really had any problems. Space Mountain is one that he won't do again...the bars gave him bruises on his legs. ( he is all legs anyhow).
everything else, he really hasn't had a problem. On rock -n-roller coaster..sit in the front row of any car. on splash mountain he has to sit a little crooked. Most things can accomadate him with out any problem!
have a good time!!!

The only ride we had trouble with (my DH and I are both on the heavier side) was Kali River Rapids where the seat belts weren't lobg enough for us to sit together - we each sat alone. Otherwise, there were no problems, Disney seems to be sensitive to these issues.

Be aware that if you are going to Universal that the rides are not nearly as friendly to the big and tall people as Disney is.

if you go to wdwig.com there is a section called WDW at large that is extremely helpful with testimonies from Pooh sized people.
hope this helps.

I rode the teacups for the first time on my last trip. I'm 6'4" and rode with a friend about 6'. Our legs were all over each other. Those teacups are deceptively small...

Thank you so much for all of the helpful info. Our worries have been put to rest. This site is truly a wealth of information and enthusiasm! Packing tomorrow and driving down on Sunday - we're so excited!

Thanks again - I'll check in when I get back!

1) I fall into the category of your husband.
2) I have no problem with the rides.
3) HOWEVER, there are several that are knee-knockers.
4) Many rides were not invented for taller guys.

I am 6'3" and weigh 270. The Teacups are a bit tight (on tummy and knees) but I ride them any way because kids love them so much and DW refuses to do spinning rides:scared: .
