I have room 5128 (Cat. 6) on the Magic on an upcoming cruise. I read somewhere that the verandahs on deck 5 are smaller than those on deck 6. Is this true? If so, how much smaller are they? Also, has anyone stayed in 5128? If so, what did you think about the room? In advance, thanks for the help. :)

Cat 6 and cat 5 are the same size
Just different deck locations..

I was just about to post the same thing--category 6 and 5 verandahs are exactly the same also (decks 5, 6 & 7) The only difference in the cabins is the room location (deck)

Now I know where I saw it written that the size was different. In the Passporter's Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line the authors state that they preferred Deck 6 staterooms "for its slightly larger verandahs". Apparently there must not be much of a difference, since I could not find any posts here at this forum discussing this topic.

Deluxe Stateroom with Verandah

Stretch out in a remarkable room with space, comfort and the amenities you expect from the Disney Cruise Line® -- including the convenient split bath with separate sinks so two people can get ready at the same time. Step out onto the lovely verandah where you can sip coffee in the morning, read a book during the day, or enjoy a cocktail as the sun sets each night.

Category: 5 or 6

Sleeps: 3 or 4

Sq. Ft.: 268

Just looked through the book again to see if I could find any more details as to what they were talking about. Again, according to the authors the deck 5 verandahs are "slightly more shallow" compared to the ones on decks 6 to 8. Probably not much of a noticeable difference though.

they are exactly the same size. We have stayed in both..both are great.

But are the CAT 6 on Deck 5 slightly larger staterooms with slightly smaller verandas? To look at the deckplan they "seem" to be, but the scale of the plans may be deceiving?

I've stayed in Deck 5 and Deck 6, Cats 6 and have noticed no difference in either veranda or stateroom size.

The size difference on the verandah is there but hardly noticable. Maybe 5 inches. We noticed it on our last cruise after reading about it in the passporter and then having room 5622. Not quite as deep, but it didn't affect the usability of the verandah. Actually, the quietness of the few aft cabins on deck 5 more than made up for the slightly smaller verandah. I can't remember the details, but I recall looking closely at the ship to figure out why deck 5 verandahs are not as deep, and there is a slight difference in the ship structure there.

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear the small size difference doesn't affect the usability of the verandah and that the deck 5 aft area is quiet. :)
