I heard this on the radio this morning and all I could think is, can we at least get through Halloween first? I mean, I'm the person who shops for everyone between 3 days to a week:headache: before christmas. When do you think you'll start your x-mas:santa: shopping?

I have two gifts already! :goodvibes But they're just really small, and the rest of my shopping won't be finished much before Christmas Eve.

However, I've been feeling quite Christmas-y lately. I'm not exactly sure why, but I did have to play a few Christmas songs on my ipod the other day for a quick fix!

Your post made me smile :) Thanks! :thumbsup2

I don't even think about Christmas shopping until December. If I bought presents now, I wouldn't even remember that I had them come Christmas time.

I'd rather not think about how long until Christmas. I have my 5 kids to buy gifts for as well as the rest of the family. And 2 of my 5 have birthdays right next to Christmas (Dec 23 and Dec 29). I would love to start shopping to spread out the spending, but I don't see it happening. I am trying to get ideas for what gifts to get them. It is my goal to be done before Thanksgiving. I can't stand the crowds!!

I pretty much start at the beginning of November. My mom shops all year long. She gave me a shirt yesterday that she had bought for me for this coming Christmas. I have been losing weight and she was afraid that if she held onto it, I wouldn't be able to wear it by then.

I do most of my Christmas shopping after Thanksgiving. This year, being laid off, I don't know how much shopping I will be able to do.

I prefer to do my shopping in December.. Just adds to the whole "Christmasy" atmosphere for me..:goodvibes

If I happen to stumble across a few things before then (which I did in a catalog just the other day), I'll go ahead and get them, but I don't "actively" shop until December..

Um no. I need to get through this week first then maybe I'll start thinking about Christmas...or maybe I'll wait until, oh, say, Thanksgiving or so. :confused3

I still haven't paid off last years X-mas gifts:rotfl2: Does that mean I can skip X-mas this year???:lmao:

I shop periodically throughout the year when I find good deals. In fact I'm over half done. No Christmas debt for me!

I have an aversion to living in the next season. It drives me nuts when you can't find bathing suits and shorts in August. I don't want to think about the fall, or start jumping ahead to Christmas! I just want to enjoy my summer right now, with my bare feet and Red Sox and grilling and the Fourth of July and parades and heading to the beach. Talk to me at the end of October, K? ;)

Forbudget reasons I do it as early as possible. I have my Christmas card already designed for this year. I just have to order it.

okay, so after reading everyone's post maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to start buying a couple things here and there. I'm just so broke right now that I can't even afford a piece of gum:rotfl2: Okay, maybe I'm being a little overly dramatic:scratchin about that, but the point is I don't have money at the time to even think about buying x-mas gifts. Maybe next month.;)

I guess it's time to get cracking.

Not in so much of a hurry for Christmas, but I'm always ready for Halloween!

Into X-mas mode here. But in all fairness, I need to deal with it early for work. I mean, the rest of the world starts thinking about it maybe in October. I have floor plans that need to be ready in 2 weeks.

Then again my Thansksgiving plans have been cemented for months too. :upsidedow When you're a retail lifer--Thanksgiving can become your Christmas.
