Six Flags (Ma.) for first time tomorrow, what should I know?

We are getting up early to take the two hour ride to Six Flags tomorrow. We're bringing our three boys and one friend, so they'll be six of us. I'm packing a lunch and drinks, I know we can't bring food in there, so we'll eat before we go in.

So tell us everything. How is the water park and is there really time for it? Should we bring towels for it or this being the first time going, is there so much to do that there won't be time?
I don't like crazy roller coasters (but do like RnRC, go figure), so will I like other rides?

If we get there at 10:00 am, will we be done by 5:00 to head home, or do you stay for 12 hours or so and close the place? Thanks alot!

I'm glad you are bringing your own food because the stuff there is awful.

If you are going to the waterpark, bring your own towels and get in line before the water park opens (it's actualy inside the regular park and opens later than the rest) as the line gets huge. Just remember, it aint WDW. It's dirty, the people who work there make minimum wage and act like it , (don't expect friendly,helpful service for anything) and you will be able to do it it one day.When we went we did the park in the a.m. ,hit the water park until it got crazy full and then toured the rest of the park for a while and left before dinner. We've been a few other times,but after WDW it's just.............bleck.....

I grew up in Springfield & I've been there a few times. As "pat fan" says...it aint' no WDW!!!
Be careful...there's lots of constuction on Rt.91 and the South End bridge (to go over the CT.River) going on right now.
I personally do not like those type rides at Six Flags...(my teen & her friends do), I prefer their water park....I go early as "pat fan" said..line up and get a few chairs in the shade if possible, maybe near the wave pool....and again, remember it ain't Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach!
