Who has been? Any tips or inside info? We leave for Chicago tomorrow and plan to go up to Great America on Monday.

I have an 11yo who loves the thrill rides, and a 6yo who also loves the few "thrill" rides she's tall enough for (BTMRR, Splash), hasn't tried Space Mtn yet, because she doesn't like the dark. She's 47" tall, so too short for many of the roller coasters I think she'd like at GA, but tall enough for the Dark Knight and Demon. Just how dark is it in the Dark Knight, and in the queue for it?

Also, how is the Demon? Though I'm surprised a looping roller coaster has a 42" height requirement, I think dd would like it, except for maybe when you go into that big hole in a rock that looks like a face.

What else there is good for a 6yo who has really outgrown the kiddie rides but isn't quite tall enough for the grown-up coasters -- that won't make her mom and dad sick by spinning them in circles too much?! ;)

Thanks!

The Demon may be a thrill ride, but it is an awesome "starter" roller coaster. May I suggest you also add the Whizzer to your "must do" list of rides, it is a classic.

ooohh! How did I miss the Whizzer when I was looking at their website? That looks perfect for dd6! Thanks!

Looks like they also have a rafting ride and two flume rides, is that right? She should like those, too.

Thank you! :)

Demon - even though it loops - is a short, little coaster. It's fun! I always liked it, when I was a wee-one. The cave you go through is quick, and if you blink, you'll miss it. Shouldn't be a problem.

Dark Knight is dark - however it's....wth are they called??? It's like Triceratops spin. A mouse coaster, I think. It's nothing intense.

I agree about The Whizzer, too - always so fun.

My only tip is to go left when you start. Everyone seems to like to go right. We avoided a lot of crowds by going left.
