Do you just bring a Coke can to the gate and they give you a discount off the ticket price?
Is it $20 off, I think that's what I heard?? Is it a specially marked can or any can of Coke will do?

I haven't been in at least 15 yrs or so. So I'm not sure how this works.:)

TIA!! :wave2:

When I went 2 years ago, there were specially marked cans. I just brought the can to the ticket window and got the discount. I think it was $20 off then too but not certain.

My daughter just went last week and brought with her a specially marked can. They just gave her $20 off the ticket price, which brought it down to $34.99. It was by far the cheapest of all the discounts out there. I think it expires around July 4 sometime.

I'm not sure if they will take any old Coke can or if it has to be specially marked. I would call and ask if you aren't sure.

You need a specially marked Coke can. But most of the 12 packs are part of the promotion anyway.

Monday-Friday: Bring the can and buy one ticket, get one free! (What a great deal!)

Otherwise: Bring the can and you $20 off admission.

I did this about 6 years ago on a Tuesday. My friends and I went as a huge group. Everyone teamed off in pairs and each pair was given one of the specially marked cans of Coke. (We made sure they were all empty and rinsed out beforehand. We thought we'd be nice to the employee collecting them.) I just walked up to the ticket window with my can of coke and a friend, gave the lady the can, and was given two tickets for the price of one. How can you beat that??

I think it expires around July 4 sometime.
Actually it expires sometime in September. I am not some know it all. I happened to be drinking Coke last night and I read the can trying to figure out if I was going to be able to make a trip there this summer. So that's why I remember the rules. Hey, it was a great deal 6 years ago and it's a great deal today.

Thanks for the info!!

I have a ton of 12 packs here (bought them when Coke went on sale for Memorial Day weekend) and not a one of them appears to be the specially marked cans!!! :confused3

Great America is so gross, though. We went last fall for Fright Night and it was just so not Disney. Little things, like polite workers, garbage left on tables, wrappers on the ground, paint peeling, just a general dirtiness about the place that you just don't feel at Disney. I thought it was just me but DH made a comment about how nasty it was compared to Disney. I know, we shouldn't even try to compare, but it was impossible not to. Have a great time, but it's just not the same as it was when I was in HS. :confused3

Disneyland is way more expensive. I know this is hence your "we shouldn't even try to compare" comment but I still wanted to point that out. I can't afford Disneyland regularly but MM offers such great prices that it makes getting season passes attainable so I figure that it's better than not being able to take my kids to a theme park at all.

Not to mention they've had 10 years to clean up since that was posted.

There is a current promotion.

It doesn't say that the can needs to be specially marked. Also - the discount seems to vary by the park, from $5 to $20. I also looked at their other discounts, and it looks like their online purchases might have a bigger discount than the Coke discount.

I haven't done such a discount in years. Maybe 20 years ago I went with some friends to what was then Paramount's Great America (I know - not Six Flags) in Santa Clara, California. They required one Coke can for each discount, and it didn't have to be specially marked. We just showed each can at the admission, and they had a large dome container to recycle the cans. I think recycling the cans was a requirement.
