I have a friend that is going to be a bridesmaid and possibly my maid of honor. (My best friend and soon to be sister in law will be brides maids and I can't decide which one to make maid of honor). Angie is a cancer survivor and due to the treatment for graft-vs-host she has had both hips replaced, and has bad knees. Needless to say she has some difficulty with standing for long periods of time. She is such a sweetheart and would never say anything, but I don't want to make her stand during the ceremony. I was talking with my parents tonight and one thing we thought about was providing chairs for all the bridesmaids and groomsmen, that way we are not singling her out. And it would be more comfortable for them as well.
Does that sound like an okay idea? I know the tradition is that somebody is standing with the bride and groom, but surely sitting down would not be a big deal.
