My wife and I are looking to get out for a night while on our trip. We are staying at the Wilderness lodge, and I know that there is a supervised activity room for kids, but don't know much about it our other sitting options.

- Do we need to book a sitter, or the (I think it's called) Cub's den well in advance?

- Does Disney have sitters that actually come to your room and stay with the kids?

- What's the typical cost, tipping, etc. of sitters and Cub's den?

We used the Cubs Den a few years ago. I did book it in advance but it was the week before Easter - I don't know if that was necessary or not. Our kids were 7 and 10 at the time and they both really enjoyed it. They didn't want to leave when we went to get them. They had dinner there. There are computers and movies and they had both done crafts. At that time is was $10.00/hour/child I believe. It may have gone up.

This should answer a lot of your questions.

If you have a child 3 and under than you will need an in room sitter which Disney does not provide. But there are 2 very good services that you can hire. (information is in the link above)

My family recently tried out Kids Nite Out in December. I thought the service was great.

Because not all our kids are old enough for the WDW services we haven't tried them out yet.

Thank you.

I read the links and they provided good information. Our kids will be 5 and 7 during our visit.

It looks as though the services provide "Activities" that don't seem to end until the kids get picked up. After 8:30 or so we are looking for the kids to be winding down and heading to bed or lying down somewhere. Can the non-stop activity be ended at a certain hour with the children getting to bed or lying down on a cot somehwere?

I think they stay pretty active all night long! Maybe they show a movie towards the end of the evening....but I don't think the "make" the kids lie down or anything. I could be wrong, though. We picked up our DD from the Sandcastle Club (Y&BC Resort) at about 10 pm and there was still lots of activity going on, but a movie was being shown for the kids that wanted to wind down.

My DD has stayed at the Cub's Den 2 or 3 times, and AKL's Simba's Cubhouse twice. Also, she has stayed at Camp Dolphin at that resort. She loves them all and it is a tradition for us to have one night to ourselves and have her stay at a kid's club. It has always been $10 an hour, but I *think* I may have read that the price went up to $11 an hour.

I highly recommend the kid's clubs! I am gonna cry when my DD turns 13 and can no longer stay in them.:sad2:
