Sit down or Quick service

We prefer table service. It is a good way to take a break, get out of the heat (during certain times of the year) and have some time visiting with each other. There are a handful of QS spots we like but those are usually about snacks and sweets :)

We prefer table service. It feels like places to sit have been getting less and less. We enjoy sitting, talking about our day so far and relaxing out of the heat.

In saying that tho, we are past the go, go, go at Disney. Dining and chilling have become as big of a part of our vacation as the rides.

Two very different experiences. We'd rather do a TS meal if the timing is right - such as pre-park opening or a late dinner. Otherwise, we don't like to eat up too much park time with a TS meal.

We now do almost exclusively TS. It gives everyone a chance to sit down and cool down. There are some good CS but since they dropped straws and lids I have even less reason to go to them.

I have family members with food allergies so we pretty much do TS for all 3 meals. Plus it is our time to relax and recharge.

For us it really depends what time of day and what kind of a mood we’re in. We used to do a sit down dinner but now we’ve started doing sit down lunches instead. Sometimes we like having a chance to relax and other times we like being flexible and picking something last minute.

I’d say in mk, ak, and hs we’re much more likely to eat qs. At Epcot we’re much more likely to do ts

We prefer QS right now. We have kids and we don't like having to pre-plan all of our meals. They may not be hungry or interested in eating at the time of the TS ADR or we may find we don't want to be in that park at that time. (We use Hoppers so we can switch parks on a whim.) Plus our youngest isn't a fan of meals taking a longer time when he has parks to explore. :)

Before things got so busy at Disney and before free Disney Dining ever existed, DH & I liked TS very much. But back then you could easily make reservations the morning you wished to eat there and many times you didn't need reservations at all. You could either walk in or wait a reasonable amount of time for a table (which for us is 30-40 minutes). But that was then and this is now. :)

Maybe when it's back to just DH & I, or our kids are older teens/adults, we'll be more willing to plan TS meals ahead. But just not right now. :)

On average:

Breakfast - 90% counter service
Lunch - 50%/50% - only counter service locations that have shade or are inside to get a break from the heat
Dinner - 90% sit down (only counter if we are completely booked that evening for example - halloween party night we eat a big lunch and snack the rest of the evening

I'm a big fan of table service. Considering the expense of vacationing at Disney, I want to enjoy my meals in peace and take a breath for a moment. Maybe have a cocktail, glass of wine, or a cold beer. We're not driving anywhere so why not? Also, I find the manic energy of the quick service places to be a bit too amp'ed up for me. I'm not enjoying my meal because I simply can't wait to get out of the chaos. Then I'm kicking myself for wasting money (and calories) on a meal I didn't enjoy. Not worth it IMO.

I enjoy TS when I do it, but I have a hard time committing to ADRs because they lock down my schedule too much. There are a lot of great CS options at WDW (some parks more than others), so I don't really feel like I'm missing out when I do only a few TS meals in a trip.

TS for late lunch and something casual for dinner. We prefer lounges to QS for sure.

QS for lunch and TS for dinner. For lunch you want to eat fast and light (relatively for Disney portions) so you can get back to the attractions and for dinner you want to relax and rest up after a hectic day of fun.

We go back and forth between the two, but we do enjoy TS for dinner and do that more often than not. We don’t like to eat too heavily at lunch - always makes me ready for a nap! ;)

When we had the kids, it was definitely QS, not that the kids don't like a good table service but hey we are at Disney and why waste the time sitting and eating!!!! So when with the kids, QS.....BUT now we are empty nesters, TS all the way, no agenda but to have fun and to sit down in an air conditioned restaurant for a meal is a good thing......

Oh, we are commando! Almost always counter service. Saves money and fills us up. Then back to having FUN!!

TS character dining at lunch now that we have kids. Saves time from not waiting in line, gives everyone a chance to relax and cool off and skip the going back to a resort middle of the day thing people are always suggesting. We generally do something in our room for breakfast, eat TS lunch then snack later or quick service dinner if anyone is hungry again. We close the park every night so I’m not interested in wasting time with a long dinner when it’s nice and cool outside and the lines are shorter lol.

We like a combination of CS and TS. I book TS for dinner but we generally stick to CS lunches and breakfast. The exception to breakfast is an occasion PPO meal booked in Epcot or MK.
