Sit down! Buckle up! & Hang On! Mickeystoontown's Gang is going to Walley World! 5/15

Your update on your drive to WDW is getting me more excited for my trip that starts late tomorrow night, since I'm driving too. That, and I cannot wait to read your TR once you get back.

It is a bit scary that Googling those spots gave you snakes and alligators! I'm not afraid of either one, but pictures of them out in the open are not really things that should be tourist draws! :lmao:

I read your last report in one sitting - loved it! Found you again on the f b Disney May 2013 page. Looking forward to following along.

Welcome! Wow! You were reading for quite some time, weren't you!

Can't believe I am one day late and on page 4!!!You sure are popular.....you are the Disboard Prom Queen!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

You are soooo silly! Glad to see you here!

Let me just say, that I have spent the last...hmm...3 days reading your last TR (I think I found it from KatMark or MEK's..) and I loved every minute of it!!! You guys are a hoot!

Let me also say...that you starting a PTR has soothed my sadness that your last TR has ended!!! I was nearing the 200th page and I couldn't help but think "NOOOOO....I AM HAVING TOO MUCH FUN READING!!":sad2:

I am so looking forward to reading more about your fun loving family! :wave2:

Thanks for sharing your stories! What are your dates?!?! I need the good stuff!!

Welcome aboard! My last trip report kinda stretched out a bit but I think that I do that so that I won't have the Disney blues.

I hope that you'll continue to post your thoughts as I love hearing from everybody. Our dates are May 21 to June 1st and I'm ready to be there right this very minute!

Im late..but Im here:wave2:

Hey now....you know there's no such thing as being late to my trip reports. I'm glad that you're here!

Oh, bite your tongue! ;)

Me stubborn, where'd you ever get an idea like that? :confused3:rotfl2:

But I don't wanna bite my tongue! It hurts! :lmao:

I am here! I can't wait to hear about your plans for this year!

Welcome! I hope that your paths cross while we are in Disney!

Joining in from the May FB board!:)

Welcome aboard! Glad to have you!

I loved your last trip report! I can't wait for more!!

Howdy! Thanks for coming along!

I'm in, wouldn't miss it - even if it does associate me with a person that's had a run in with Disney security and admits to "stealing" bread. ;)

I'm so excited for you, your vacation is getting close. :cool1:

Hey there! Are you absolutely sure that you're okay with being associated with a thief? Actually multiple thieves? :rotfl2:

Joining in! Can't wait for more!!:wave2:

Welcome! I just posted an update!

Well, I can't say I'm surprised by all the pictures of the different resorts since I remember when you were planning all that and you and I were messaging back and forth. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

You and I are a little alike with our resorts...we found what we love and we stick with it...no reason to mess with success. As you know, ours was Coronado...well, at least until we fell in love with DVC. ;)

What I didn't realize among all this is the fact that I will miss you by a MERE five days. I can't find a tantrum smiley, so you'll get this instead: :headache::headache::headache:

Kathy, you're right. We know what our families like and we can't seem to venture away from it.

Yep, just five days in between our vacations. :worried:

OMGoodness!! :rotfl: You did make some good changes, and then changed again, and again......and......again! :rotfl2: Bless your heart.
You could have done what I did and actually booked yourself at all of them.

We will stay POP first night (we added on a day too!!) , Little Mermaid rooms for two nights (because I don't want to be in the values too long), Then 7 days in CSR (our home resort where we LOOOOOVE-just like you do with your CBR) And then we'll round it out our last two nights at POR Royal rooms. I sure hope where you read about the bugs aren't in that part of POR. :scared:

It's making me itch just thinking about it! In all reality though (this is me thinking out loud and talking myself into staying at POR-:rotfl:), how often do you hear of someone having bug issues in the resorts? I'm sure Disney takes care of these issues pretty darn quickly. But I could see why you would have a hard time switching when you heard this.
I've hemmed and hawed about staying at POR, and it all comes down to me just breaking out of my norm and remembering I'm trying a new place I've been wanting to try. Who knows, maybe I'll try CBR next time! :goodvibes

And I will say the same sentiments Ms. Kat did, I'm a bit miffed I'm missing you by four, whole, stinkin days!! One of these days we'll over lap and be there at the same time. You are actually going about the exact time we went on our last two trips in May, I switched to earlier in May so I could see the Flower and Garden Fest. this time. I missed it by two days due to my son saying he thought he wanted to go to prom....which he didn't end up going to. :rotfl:

Wow! You're going to be one resort changing fool! Not fool fool but you know what I mean. :rotfl: I can't wait to see how you liked all the different resorts.

Next year, we'll stay somewhere new but felt the need to stick with the CBR since Mama's comfortable there.

I wish that we could have moved our dates up so we could see the Flower & Garden Festival. I miss seeing it and I'll miss seeing you too! Doggone it!

As the old cliche says, "it's a woman's perogative to change her mind." :confused3:rotfl2:

I'm right with you and not confused. :)

Now I'm singing It's My Perogative! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cDLZqe735k

Now let's just hope with the trip so close you don't change your mind again. :lmao:

Please no! I don't think I could keep it all straight. :rotfl:

WOW! Those were some serious changes! A family suite at AoA would have been cool. I'm sorry to hear you switched over to POR FQ. I'll admit his issue with the roaches did give me something to think about for about a day. I mentioned it to DH and he asked well can't they just move us, and I was like yeah I guess. So no change for us we're just hoping for the best! See we have this we want to stay at every disney resort bucket list going so every year we try to go to a new resort. Also I'm a big lover of all things Southern and I really want to stay at one of the gorgeous mansions.

Yay for an extra day! :cool1::cool1:

I would have loved a suite at AoA but if Mama had to back out, we'd be paying a lot of money for the extra room that was no longer needed.

John and Mama said that they'd have the roaches in their minds the whole time we were at POR so, for everybody's peace of mind, we switched. I think that we'll enjoy FQ.

I need a nap after all of that switching! LOL! ;)

Wherever you stay, it will be a fantastic trip!

I know! :faint: I was confused just typing it. :rotfl:

Wow the tea cups don't have anything on the dizzyness all that switching causes ;)

Ain't that the truth! I had trouble keeping everything straight when I was typing it. :p

We are exactly where you were trying to decide where to stay. It is hard when there are abunch of people and 2-3 rooms involved. My SIL still isn't sure if he is coming or not...he may do a hunting trip in VA about the same time instead. Thus 2 or 3 rooms! And waiting to see if there will be any deals from Disney. Right now we aere planninf POFQ but the other day my DS Megan said she thout the AOA suites looked cool. And of course Jet Blue which is our prefferred airline as they have a direct flight has not posted prices beyond 10/26...we are going 11/30-12/6. I want to start planning. Of course picking ADRs will be mnay discussions also!!!!

It's hard to decide on a resort when there's so many to choose from! I know that in the past, French Quarter discounts weren't as good at Riverside or even the other moderates. I think the discount for FQ was just 5% and the other moderates were 25%. That's a big difference but for one night, I didn't mind.

I like your plans. I understand the back and forth on which resort to stay at too. You know you love CBR, so of course you want to be where you know you will enjoy your stay. But of course you also are curious about the other resorts. I think staying one night at POFQ will be good, get an idea of whether you like it or not, but get to stay at CBR, where you know you will be happy, the rest of the time.

I guess that we're just stuck in a rut kind of people and just stick with what we know we like.

I personally LOVE all the changes. Isn't that part of the fun of planning a Disney vacation??? :rotfl2:

If that's the case, then I'm just a barrel full of monkeys! :rotfl2:

Eleven days! What an awesome vacation. I think you'll really like staying at Fort Orleans FQ. Next trip you might even do a split stay with a week at each. Do worry about changing resort reservations too much, it's definitely part of the fun.

If it were up to me, we'd stay even longer but we're pushing it with the bosses as it is. ;)

Where is that spinning head smiley?
:faint: I guess this is close enough!

Awesome that you get a nice long trip! And you deserve the vacation days! He should give you more anyway!

I know that the boss is going to grumble and whine and act like a little girl but he'll get over it. Like you said, I should get more than a week anyway.

I love your long vacation, but I do have to say I am disappointed you didn't try another resort for the package part. I would love to see how you liked another place.

Honestly, the main reason why we ended up back at the CBR is because of Mama. She is comfortable there so if she wanted to go back to the resort during the day, she'd be fine with it and so would we.

I'm here, i'm here!!! Sorry, I'm late, but you know I just can't make it anywhere quite on time!:lmao:

I'm so excited for you to try POFQ! I want to try POR- But I want them to get it all cleaned up first!

11 days sounds like perfection!!!

Girl, no need to apologize! You're a Mama to two girls and you work so I completely understand. I'm excited about French Quarter too!

Subscribing!! Heading to the CBR for the first time in weeks!! Soooo very excited...hopefully heading towards the fantasy in 2015 :)
Thank you soooo much for helping me continue my Disney obsession ...lol

Welcome! I have pictures of the CBR coming up soon!

Finally getting here to say Hi. I'm ready to see the new adventures we will live vicariously through you and your family. :goodvibes

Hey! Glad to see you here!

Hi Lisa. I came over from Judy's trip report. You and your family are so sweet to send them such wonderful gifts that I just had to come over. Your writing is such a hoot and I love the fun your whole family has. I haven't written much on trip reports being mostly a lurker, but I retired in Feb. so am trying to. I read your last trip report and enjoyed it so much. Looking forward to this trip report. We usually go in Jan. to get away from Minnesota winters and had our warmest trip ever this year. We stay off site at Windsor Hills because we go with my daughter's family (3 grandkids) to save money, so I really enjoy all the pics of the resorts. I think you need to talk your boss into giving you 2 weeks vacation. I think you deserve it after 5years!
Robyn

Hey Robyn! Glad to have you here! The Lord has blessed my family and I'm so happy that he brought Judy and I together. It's been wonderful seeing the smiles on her beautiful family!

So, you're a snow bird! I'm not a person who likes cold weather so I'm sure that I'd be wanting to get away from Minnesota Winters too. Florida is just the right place to do it too. :thumbsup2

Hi I'm here:cool1:

Now am I crazy or did you mention on your TR that you were going to be having even more family besides Lacy and Jesse and mama?

I hope you had a happy Easter!

Hey Kathy!

Nope you're not crazy! I have three cousins who are taking their families and John's brother and his family are going. I've already asked for permission to post their pictures on my trip report so you'll definitely be seeing them around.

I'm here!! Just making my way over! :yay:

Welcome! Glad you found me!

Hey Robyn I just retired in Jan...best job I ever had! Anyway we usually go to WDW in Jan too to get away from Vermont winter but are going in Dec. to see the lights and decorations this year. We travel 3 generations also. Many great people on the Disboards

Boy do we have a lot in common. We are going the 1st two weeks of Nov. this year for our 40th anniversary. We also want to see the Osborne lights and all the decorations. We went a couple years ago in Oct. to see the Halloween decorations and go to MNSSHP.

You might want to check but I'm not sure the Christmas decorations etc are up the beginning of Nov. We are going 11/30-12/7 which is right after Thanksgiving. Sorry we won't be there at the same time so we could have a Dismeet. There is a Dec 2013 thread under resorts and also a nov 2013 that you might want to check out.

Some are. The go up starting the first week of Nov.

I remember back in the day when they didn't put up the Christmas decorations until the day after Thanksgiving. It was amazing to walk into the parks and see the transformation!

Laughed at all your resort changes...Somehow I knew you'd be at CBR for the trip! ;)

Now how'd you come to that conclusion? :lmao:

It was fun reading your plans and changes and changes and changes. And I loved that you at least considered Beach Club as one of your options! But I'm not sure I could really justify that for you for one night.

Someday...

It will be interesting to hear what you think of POFQ.

And it just wouldn't seem right for you not to be at CBR.

I really really tried to justify the $320 that it would cost to stay at Beach Club for that one night. I tried to tell myself that Stormalong would be an alternative to a possible trip to the water park. Or that we'd probably never get an opportunity to stay there. In the end, I just couldn't do it. I couldn't fork over the extra money.

We've stayed at both CBR and POFQ and LOVE them both!!! Being from Louisiana, you may really enjoy the dinner specials at POFQ and the beignets!!! We decided not to stay there this vacation because well it felt too much like home..... :rotfl2: I know, I know....sad but true!!

We will be spending May 31- June 2 at CBR so we may see you around!! :thumbsup2 Just look for the family of purple and gold!

Yeah, I'm afraid that Port Orleans is going to feel too much like home but I'm sure that I'll get over it. ::yes::

Holla at us if you see us! We usually try to stop and talk with anybody wearing purple and gold!

Hello!! I'm mostly a reader and do not comment much but I just finished reading your last trip report and look forward to reading about your upcoming adventure. My hubby, daughter (12), son (soon to be 6) and I will be going on our 2nd trip to WDW shortly before you (5/7 - 5/15) and staying at CBR. I have enjoyed sharing your pics of the resort with my family so thanks for sharing!!

Welcome! I hope that you'll feel free to post and not just read along but if you do, that's okay.

I'll have more pictures of the CBR posted soon!

All caught up and joining in.:)

Hello there! Welcome!

LOL love the road trip overview. Let's hope you don't see any snakes. Yikes!

We have an alligator in our pond right now. He's a little fellow. Sadly someone must be feeding him because he is not afraid of people according to my neighbor today.

If we see a snake anywhere, you'll see something streaking by and it will be my 79 year old Mama! She hates snakes! :rotfl:

Ah, they shouldn't feed him because, like you said, he's not going to be afraid of humans and that will, most likely, cause problems.

:lmao:

Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I'm so excited for you!

I'm pretty sure that the snake one is NOT anywhere near Florida. I've never seen such big snakes like that. Alligators....those are another story.

Good morning! I've not abandoned my own pre-trip report. John's been working his tail feathers off on his brother's new home construction (meaning that I'm tending to everything on the homefront by myself) and I've been sewing like a mad woman on some super cute pillowcase dresses for a Diser who is leaving for Disney this month. They are adorable, if I do say so myself. Just one more dress to go and then I have a couple of backsack orders to do for a couple of May Disers.

Don't worry about us, we'll keep. :goodvibes ::yes::

Pictures!! Pictures!! I'd love to see the little dresses. :)

And thank you, thank you, thank you for getting our backsack done as fast as you did. Can't wait to see it!!! :goodvibes
I know you have a lot on your plate (sewing orders and all), especially with your trip coming up!! :cool1:

Wow! You're going to be one resort changing fool! Not fool fool but you know what I mean. :rotfl: I can't wait to see how you liked all the different resorts.

:rotfl: I'm from the midwest and had cousins growing up from Georgia, I knew exactly what you meant. There's no need to be worried about offending me with your southern charms, did I mention I live in Texas? I love living in the south and I love southern people, they just have a great way of putting things. Aaaaand some interesting ways of turning a phrase, I think my favorite is...."That's suuuuure is pertty, it's shinier than a diamond in a goat's....." I'll leave it up to the imagination as to where this diamond would be. :rolleyes1 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Next year, we'll stay somewhere new but felt the need to stick with the CBR since Mama's comfortable there.

Totally understandable. ::yes::

I wish that we could have moved our dates up so we could see the Flower & Garden Festival. I miss seeing it and I'll miss seeing you too! Doggone it!

I know!!! Dang it!! :headache:
Y'all need to do that next year. That way you'll get to see F&GF and if you keep going during that time of May, we might get to run into one another one of these years!!! :woohoo:
So, I'm curious, are you leaving your hair longer for the trip, or are you going to cut it short again? You look great either way, but I really love your shorter sassy hair that you had at the parks last year. :thumbsup2

I'm trying to work on an update while my boss is in court but I keep getting interrupted by phone calls. Silly people....don't they know that I need to my Dis time? Apparently, they haven't a clue! :lmao: Anyway, I'll try to finish that up and then come back with replies.

I think I know who those dresses are for.

Oh My Gosh. You probably wouldn't believe this, but I used to be a big Bobby Brown fan. :rotfl: Yep, I'll admit it. I have seen him in concert twice. :goodvibes And now after watching your video link I am watching other videos. ::yes::

I saw him when Michael was really little, so about 23 years ago or more.
It was awesome. And while we were there they annouced they were doing a live video for Every Little Step I Take and all the lights went flashing and it was so cool.
I never saw the video, but a friend of mine asked if one was taped while we went and I told her yes and she said she saw it a couple of times and swore it was Toledo. LOL

And then saw him during the New Edition reunion tour (again many years ago). That was a fun concert as well. Rumors were that Bobby Brown didn't show up to all the shows (I think it had to do with drug issues), but he came to ours and did a great job. Plus each of the members who had branched out on their own or in groups (like Bell Biv Devo) also did mini shows in the concert too.

So now you know my deep dark secret. :smokin:

Around 10:00-11:00 p.m. or so, we should be in Mobile, Alabama and driving through the tunnel where well honk the horn over and over again until we reach the other side. Yall dont honk your horns when you go through a tunnel? I swear, us Louisiana folks must be different that yall cause honking the horn in a tunnel is just something that youre raised to do. ::yes::

Honking in a tunnel?! Never heard of such a thing. But I guess here in WV we have our own tunnel tradition...or maybe it's just my family and friends' families. But we have always hold our breath through tunnels. And see who (if anyone) can make it til the end.

I spent 2 days at work reading your previous TR and LOVE it! I have always thought I would love a cruise, especially a Disney one, but you confirmed my fears. I do not what to feel like I am stuck somewhere with no way out if thing weren't going right!

Can't wait for the rest of the PTR and TR to follow!

Because of the high cost of air travel we will drive from Illinois in June to WDW. Reading about your drive makes it more fun. We will take three days to travel - two cars and maybe some side trips. We could drive through or do it in two days but decided to take our time and enjoy the ride. Looking forward to more of you PTR.

Your boring drive sounds pretty similar to ours, even though we take different routes to get to I-75! :moped:

And now we can say we'll be there next month! :hyper:
