Anybody have a Joovy Caboose or Stand n Ride Duo stroller from Fisher Price how do they compare. See any in the park?

Thinking this might be a better opion than a Double stoller for DD2 and Ds 1 month.

I have the Joovy and have had it since April.
I do like it alot and have no complaints other than that it can be cumbersome, but in my opinion not any more so than a double stroller.
For me, I never wanted a double. They just seem so wide!
Now my dd, 9 months, is in the stroller w/o her carrier and its not nearly as heavy. She has always been comfy in it too!!
My ds, 3, LOVES standing on the back or being able to sit when he needs to.
He's at an age where it gives him somewhat of an option and he likes that.
Hope this helps!

I have the Joovy too & I think it is easy to move (easier when I just have my 10 mo old in it).

I love it. I didn't want a double either but since I now have 3 kids it is easier to have that.

My older 2 both climb in the back-one will sit & one will stand & I can still easily push it (but I will be huffing & puffing going up hill!).

It opens easy, it folds easy too.

And sometimes if my 3 yo is just in the back he will turn & put his feet in the basket & face forward.

Another Joovy owner here...and we love it! I've had it for about a year and I push dd1 and dd4 around all the time. I like that it is the width of a regular stroller making it easier to get onto the monrail, through gates/doorways, etc. Also, it is easier to find parade spots/fireworks spots against fences because you only need the width space of one stroller.

We tried a few different sit and stand models and ended up choosing the Joovy (over Babytrend) because it was a bit lighter and easier to fold/carry.

I have the Sit and Stand and I love it. I looked at the Joovy but decided to go with SandS for a couple of reasons. 1. The Joovy doesn't have cup holders for the parents.(Child in the back can use them too) 2. when the seat in the Joovy is reclined, there is very little room for the older child to sit on the back seat. My DD4 loves to sit (or stand ) in the back. I have found the cup holders on the handle are great because she has a place to put her sippy and snacks. DD1 uses the tray on her seat.

All that being said...I am NOT taking this stroller to WDW!!!! This stroller is not good for when they need to nap. The child in the front can't nap because the seat doesn't recline far. The child in the back has no options for napping at all.

I use my SandS for everyday stuff and love it. I'll take my Chicco Citta Double to WDW because it is very comfy for the kids, adjustable sun shade, rain cover, and has a lot of storage space under the seats.:thumbsup2

If you have another option for a stroller, I might skip the Joovy/Sit and Stand strollers for WDW. JMHO

We looked at both of these strollers a lot over the past year for our 2 kids. We ended up getting a Peg Perego Centro Completo, which is similar in that it has a standing platform on the back for an older kid (bigger and more standing friendly than the Peg Perego Pliko P3), but no seat. Reason being that it was so much lighter, more compact, much easier to push/turn and easier to fold carry and since my daughter mostly walks anyway it seemed like a better fit for us. We've only had it a week but so far I love it!

Prior to that decision, however, we had decided on the Fisher Price, even though it didn't have many good reviews. The reason for that was that it had an easier fold/unfold mechanism and was a bit lighter. Plus I liked how you could make a huge storage basket when the older kid was not using the 2nd seat. That seemed like a great feature cause I do a lot of shopping with just my son while my daughter is in preschool.

We saw a few of the Fisher Price Stand n' Rides in WDW and tons of Joovys and asked some people about them. The FP owners both liked them a lot, but did agree that they're very hard to steer, one of which attributed that to the really long handle. The Joovy people liked theirs too, but did say it was kind of cumbersome folded.

I've had a Joovy for over a year and really like it. I bought cup holders to attach so that I would have somewhere to put mine and my son's (5) drinks. The back doesn't recline that much but that's not a problem for me b/c my daugther (age 2) doesn't nap.

I don't know anything about the Fisher Price stroller but I did read the reviews on babiesrus.com and it seemed that not a lot of people like it.

I got the Joovy for our trip to WDW last fall. At the time my kids were 14 mos and 4.5 yrs. Both kids slept in them believe it or not. DS rested his arms on the safety strap and his head on top of his arms while waiting for Wishes to start. It amazes me some of the positions kids can sleep in and not wake up with a stiff neck!

The stroller is bulky and heavy. My biggest complaint is that the wheels lock when it is shut, so you cant roll it along (you have to carry it). The other thing, the foot rest flops around when folded up, making for a difficult time manuvering around people on the buses. I swore next time we would drive to the parks that werent on the monorail loop.

There is plenty of storage. You can fold the stroller with some things in the basket. I like that the seat slides over the top of it too. I added a mesh bag on the side to carry the ponchos and a rain cover (I tested the ones at Babies R Us on the stroller in the store and it covered both seats. As for drinks, I was able to store our drinks in the mesh pocket on the back of the seat. I used a leash type device to attach DDs drink cup so she could keep it in her tray. My sons drink went into the pocket. You could also get a holder for the handle.

Pushing was no picinic either. Turning was tight sometimes. What really irritated me was when people cut in front of us, or suddenly stopped as we were plugging along. It took some effort to stop or start up again after that happened. At the end of the day I made my son walk, especially up the monorail ramps. Keep in mind too that my son was 4 and almost at the max weight limit.

We are going back in a month and I will be hauling it along. The kids will now be 19 mos and 5 so it going to be even tougher to move around.

So alloyd1170 overall given it's limitations would you reccomend it as a lesser of 2 evils 9Double Stroller as another option).

At 2 yrs and 1 month I would get the double stroller as at 2 yrs at WDW they will still become exhausted and want to nap and then where do you put them? As an owner of 5 strollers (2 doubles) I have reseacrhed them and they are more for kids 4 yrs & baby imo. Just a thought.

After shopping for hours online for just the right stroller to fit my needs.. I bought the Joovy Caboose Ultralight. I love it. It seems to be the lightest one with all the features I "need."
J.U.(Joovy Ultralight), S.S.(Baby Trend Sit'n'Stand),F.P.(FisherPrice)..
First of all..I just don't think the F.P. is in the same category..they tried, but it doesn't sound like they they succeeded.
For me, the J.U. is better then the S.S. though, and this is why..
Some things many are concerned about:

~Size/Weight: The J.U. is quite bit lighter and compact w/o compromising the quality. I love how easy it is to pick up when putting in the car and it folds so compact(I think the neoprene cup holder is awesome in this sense too!).
~Storage: I've read that the F.P. has tons of storage, but you can only use it with one child(so I would just get a cart). I've also read that many don't think there's enough storage for J.U., but there's only a little less then the S.S. I've also read that many have trouble accessing the basket, but I'm not sure why, it has elastic on the sides(I'm not sure if the S.S. does). I've read that many don't think the J.U. has cup holders..it does, they're made out of neoprene, which is good for insulation and they're a little stretchy so it can fit more sizes and keep them snug so they don't move around when going over bumps. Also, it has a zipper pouch on one side and reg. pouch on the other..very nice for keys, cell phone, etc., they don't fly around and make tons of noise.
~Comfort: Okay, now this is where you have to literally weigh your options.. I'm going for the long run and I'm only going to use it if its easy and lightweight. That being said.. The S.S. does have an extra seat, which is good if your older child isn't too long(I hear they don't fit it very long). Some say the J.U. front chair reclines too much for the child in the back to sit comfortable, but it doesn't, and if it were straight up and down, like the S.S., the child in front wouldn't be comfortable(I also read that if you recline the S.S. front seat, the child in back can't sit down). Just have to think about that. I'm not sure if the back seat on the S.S. slides but it does on the J.U. It's good for when the child is older, you can move it back for more leg room and when the car seat is in use(move forward)theres more "back" room to sit up comfortably. I think that although the S.S. does accomodate two younger children better, as the older child gets bigger, that stroller is no longer a bettter choice. The J.U.(to me is going to be more comfortable in the long run).
~Usablity/Manuvering: I hear the S.S. is kind of hard to collapse, where as it is very easy to do w/the J.U. You don't have to remove the car set adapter(although it makes it about 4 in. longer) and its still easy to collapse. Because the J.U. isn't nearly as long, its much easier to manuver. I hear the S.S. is just as long as a double stroller even when the car seat isn't on.
~~Overall: I think it comes down to weight and size because I've heard the same complaints about the comfort of both..apperantly the sit and stand types just aren't good for long trips. When I first got my J.U. I couldn't believe how small it was!..It is just a tiny bit bigger and heavier then my reg. Graco stroller. I can't wait till I don't need the car seat adapter(what an exciting moment), it will be even smaller then it already is!
I hope this helped anyone trying to decide on the two. I tried to cover all the bases. Try to enjoy what you do choose..Both are expensive(the J.U. is quite a bit more, but well worth it!).

So, I guess if you don't mind the extra weight, length, and work to make a S.S. collapse, the Sit'n'Stand can be a good alternative, since it does accomodate the rear child well if he fits the removable rear seat.
