Sister Wives

Community of Christ was known years ago as RLDS. There are lots of sources on the net for the history of the Community of Christ. Many of their churches are in the Midwest. Basically their founders stayed in the Midwest while the Mormons went to Utah.

Thanks, yes, actually this is the group they were affiliated with.

They're associated with Community of Christ? It must be a very loose affiliation though since that church does not support polygamy.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. They were not polygamous. I was just commenting on the various splinters of Mormonism.

Haven't read any of the comments since Sunday's episodes but I felt bad for Meri....not over the "catfishing" incident but over the Salomon thing and the way Mariah was treating her....yep, she screwed up befriending someone online that maybe she thought could make her happy and get her out of the "world according to Robyn".

In case you hadn't noticed, I do NOT like Robyn AT ALL, she was all onboard Meri's bandwagon when they needed Meri to divorce Kody so she could legally marry him so they could adopt her kids but now she almost acts like she is superior to Meri.

IMO, it just seemed like they were talking to Meri like she was a small child and were making up lame excuses (yes, I know what little ones can be like but sheesh!) and then the way Robyn talked about Meri while on the couch, all I could think was "wow, how soon you forget all she has done for you and that you attributed to alot of this" Just the overall, Robyn being so dang needy and then also having to have the marriage to Kody, just really bites me and Mariah was being such a little snot

I got the feeling that Robyn did not trust Meri with Solomon. Her reaction to Meri's request seemed like she was afraid to send him with her. I thought that Mariah was being awfully immature. The whole thing about Meri's eyebrows... what the heck was that about.... I would not want to have a heart to heart talk with my child with the cameras in tow, that would be very awkward.

I've always been on Meri's side (first wife, had to be hard to learn to share your husband). But last night was a bit much with Solomon. I could easily see a 4 year old have separation issues and it not be a good idea for him to spend the night much less go out of state with Meri.

I also thought Myriah drama was overdone.

I felt sorry for Mary with the Solomon issue too. If they are supposed to be one big family all helping to raise the kids then it shouldn't be a big deal. According to their own beliefs she is his mom also. And then they just thrust Briana on her, like she could say no, she didn't want to take her.

I thought that the fact that she wanted to take Solomon was weird. He's the baby of the family and his mom is about to give birth. That's a horrible time for any kind of transition.

robyn/kody can't figure out why solomon is having separation issues/nightmares????? gee-maybe it's because he's slept his whole life in robyn's room (possibly in her bed) but now not only are they moving him to another room it's really just half a room to share with 'baby sister' (and seriously???? who puts a newborn in a room with a toddler-neither is going to get any sleep).

meri wanted to take him b/c he's one of mariah's favorite younger kids-she pretty much spelled it out that she wanted him to put mariah in a good mood and provide a buffer for their negative interaction.

I agree to an extent-but did you catch it where she basically slammed her entire family? dh didn't catch it when we were watching it so I reversed the dvr and we rewatched the scene where Mariah was being interviewed by the producer and there it was-

she starts talking about how she's changed her mindset since leaving home/going to college, learned to think for herself, how she's come to realize she was misled and 'lied' to by her 'church'-but she makes a point of saying something along the lines of 'in my family our church IS my family'.

she's directing all her anger towards meri but I think she's realy angry with everyone.

also-did anyone else catch her saying that part of her anger was b/c she 'told' meri not to pursue the on-line communication, that meri totally disregarded what she said and so the whole mess occurred (i thought no one else knew what was going on?).

I'm in the middle of the episode and ugh. Myriah is my least favorite person in the family, always has been and this episode just confirms it for me. She's like Meri on her worst day two times over. Snotty attitude.

I'm a few episodes behind, but I was confused when robin made the comment about not having teenagers in her house. I could have sworn that Mariah stayed with her for a bit at some point?

Also, with the lights.. Why didn't he hook them all up to the center ring while on the ground and then pull them to each house? Seems like it would be more steady that way.

And how do they afford this Hawaii trip?

I'm sure the network is picking up a good bit of the bill. Sponsors as well. Good publicity. How do they really afford any of it?

No doubt. All of these reality shows hit a mature point where they are living off the proceeds of the show, and move even further from "reality" than they were when they premiered.

This is where I typically lose interest.

TLC pays for much of the trips. The audience will get bored watching nothing but regular everyday life. Plus they earn money from the show. And in the past we know that they were big credit card users.

I was trying to figure out how much a trip to Hawaii would cost for, I think 25 or 26 people. I think with air fare, hotel, meals it would cost them about $100,000 or so!!?? That is IF they were paying for it themselves. I'm sure the network is paying for it. Come to think of it, I haven't seen Cody or any of them for that matter, go to work in a while.

I'd be shocked if TLC wasn't paying for all of it. But at least when shows like this pretend to have someone working, I can suspend my disbelief and pretend it based in reality. Once they reach this phase where they are just spending proceeds from the show, and take trips paid for by the network, it gets further removed from any semblance of truth. And I just don't find it that interesting.

I think it's becoming more and more obvious this season that they are out of story lines. How many times do we have to hear about Meri's catfishing incident? It seems to permeate every moment of every episode.

I have to say this because it drives me nuts.....drives me crazy how Caleb wears his hat constantly!
It doesn't matter if they are indoors, eating, praying, whatever....he has that dang hat on! Not wanting a big hat debate, I am old fashioned so no hats in my house.

I was surprised tonight when Kody and Meri were talking that they seem to not be actually spending any time together. It certainly feels like Meri has one foot out of the relationship
