Sister Wives

I'm still watching the train wreck too! I wonder how much $$ they get per episode. Just wondering..would any of you jump from the Stratosphere?! I'm thinking NO way for me :scared1::faint:

As I said to my daughter last night, "Why would someone in their right mind jump from a perfectly good building that's not on fire"?

I would jump for the thrill. And Kody probably jumped for the thrill AND the $$$!!

I was surprised that all of the garages but Christines were full of "stuff".
Where do they put their cars?

Yes, the wrestling mats seemed to be a major expense. I am constantly amazed with their spending habits since they are always talking about money in some way or another.

Also, I don't see the leadership and weight of the family on Kody like his wives describe. Maybe it is editing but he is never shown making a difference as a father. He gives his opinion a lot but we don't see much else. The wives seems to handle the upbringing.

Just my opinion.

Sometimes when I watch these reality shows...I forget the "show" part! I can remember on Kate plus 8....she explained all of the fun and educational places she got to take her children.

I think we needs to remember all of the things they do...wrestling mats, bungee jumping, parties, etc are funded by the show.

The wrestling mats looked like they had a school logo on them. I wonder if they were able to buy them used or as "salvage" having been removed from a school where they were probably putting in new ones. That would make it much cheaper...

I'd have to go back and look (and please don't make me! :lmao: once was enough......) but I seem to recall the mats fit that space perfectly. That would be quite a coincidence if they were leftover from a school. Or maybe they are able to cut them down to fit or something?

This is exactly what I was going to say. I would guess any high end product they show... Computers, phones, cameras, wrestling mats, etc. have all been paid for by the show or "donated" by companies to be shown on the show. Watch the Duggars, they are notorious for their "product placement"

I would not for any reason think that they pay for the majority of the stuff they have

There was a brief scene showing one of the guys cutting them into the corner with a carpet knife. Cody also mentioned at one point where the wrestling mats came from but I don't remember what he said. (Originally the mats were intended to be installed at Janelle's for Hunter but they ended up at Christine's instead.)

Thank you for providing an answer without me having to go back and watch again! :)

Yeah, I forgot about all the perks they usually get from the show. Good points!

Did anyone else notice that the description of tonights episode says "Meri has a complete meltdown"? I swear, this could be the description of EVERY episode. I don't think there's been an episode where she hasn't cried.

Yet, I must watch!

I know right?! For such a "happy" family they sure are a miserable bunch.

So does anyone else thing the fortune teller saying their would be a 5th wife was totally a ploy by the show to generate more drama? :lmao:

I have to admit I teared up a little when Meri was talking with her daughter. My youngest DS is a high school senior so I can totally relate!

I was crying. Outright crying. I have one child, a DD who is 18 and a senior in high school. I know exactly how Meri is feeling and maybe that's why I have more sympathy for her than others.

I actually thought last night's show was OK. They seemed to be getting along better (the wives and Cody) or maybe they're just becoming better actresses and actor!!! I enjoyed the graduation party and could relate to the feelings expressed.

I didn't mind last night's episode either. That's probably because I have had 2 sons graduate high school in the past 3 years. Normally I see Meri as a whiny crybaby but this time I was crying right along with her, wanting her to find a place she could see her daughter walk across the stage.

Maybe I missed it...... but with all the focus of where Meriah is going to school, did they ever say what Aspen is doing? Or do we just assume UNLV for all those kids unless told differently?

I really didn't get the conversation with the teacher from high school about college funding in the very same episode as graduation though. I mean, but then hasn't that ship already sailed?

She had a bunch of gifts that said UNLV on it. Pretty sure she talked about it last season as well.

I liked this episode because it was more about the teens. I wish they would do that more often. The adults are becoming boring.

Agreed - they are way more interesting than their parents.

I wish they had given Aspen more coverage in last night's episode. It's kind of messed up to send the kids the message that being a drama llama = air time.
