Really? I could have sworn she said "Kody's here"... :confused3

I've tried to find info on Robyn's ex, all I could find that he is a Jessop which is a famous polyg family. Can't remember his first name. She mentioned before that he didn't want to take on any wives. I think she's used to be the only one.
I agree that welfare must be paying for a lot of the kids. The Dugger family has been on camera saying they get no hand outs and if you read their book, you will see that they don't do that. They believe in providing for themselves. The Browns have never mentioned that they don't get assistance.
Why did Christine want another one? To compete with Robyn? She is about 38 and already has 6 kids.

It sure did sound like "DADDY'S HERE" to me and I thought the same thing as 'keetmommy' … where is her EX and is the EX ok with Robyn's DD calling Kody Daddy….?

Well it certainly seems like all of us posting are 'on the same page' … the family is RUSHED out of UT with no plan whatsoever and now the family is NOT living like a family. Sad, very sad. :sad2:

As far as money, I believe at this point it would be money from TLC that is their biggest source of income.

I fail to see how moving to Vegas is going to "free" them of the investigation. :confused3 Last time I looked, they were in the same country.... Just like if you rob a bank in state 1 and go to state 2, you're still held responsible. Utah is still going to "investigate". If they want them back, they'll have to go back...

I :rotfl2: when Robyn said "we made the decision to do this show.....", well, I though Kody & the 1st 3 made that decision. She wasn't in the picture when the show started....

Just jumping in here, haven't read all the posts but I'm totally hooked on this show. What I don't get is why did he think if he moved to LV that suddenly all of his troubles would be gone? Seriously, they are in the same country and they could easily be extradicted (did I spell that right?) back to Utah? It makes me wonder if law enforcement in Utah gave them some sort of ultimatum. Get out or get prosecuted? Of course, if he isn't committing any kind of tax fraud with the wives is it really illegal? Grown people can't live together in whatever combination they wish?

You know I was just thinking about the whole 'daddy's here' comment … I doubt any of the kiddos can say 'daddy's home' … :sad2: Because he has to make his way to FOUR houses a day … hmmm. :scratchin

I just started watching this recently. I have a question. When he married each of the wives, did they get a legal marriage certificate? That would make it illegal. Or, are they just married in the eyes of their church without legal documentation? If that is the case, how is it any different than people just living together? Not sure I understand what's going on.

I'll probably get this wrong, but I believe it's because in Utah if you live with someone like that it becomes a common law marriage, so he's committing bigamy. NV doesn't have a common law marriage law. That's why he thought moving them to Vegas would solve all his problems -- well that and now they can go see Donny and Marie at the Flamingo ;) Maybe they'll give him his big break in show biz. I think he wants it!

Maria :upsidedow

He's only legally married to Meri, the 1st wife.

Interesting. Unless he is doing something with taxes, I don't see how they can go after him. If I wanted to bring four boyfriends to live with me (like that could ever happen), would that be illegal? As we see all the time, woman have multiple illegitimate children by different fathers. I don't get how this is illegal.

If they hadn't done the show, would this be a problem? Is it really a problem or just for the show? Inquiring minds want to know?

I think the short answer is that in Utah the authorities look the other way as long as you don't cause trouble. Kody & Co. flaunted it with a tv show, so they had to investigate. So, no, if they hadn't done the show this would not be a problem...

Peg, I don't have all the details and maybe others can post who do know, but something happened with some of their close relatives … LE got involved and they were all split up. :confused3 They are afraid this will happened to their family.

AND yes, doing the show was the issue. They have lived for years in UT and LE never bothered them. Then they contract to do the show and all of a sudden their lives are turned upside down.

I just finished watching. I have to say that Robin is beginning to drive me nuts with the "cute" little voices that she uses.
:thumbsup2

That bugged me too.

I didn't click the link but am gleaning Christine is preggo too. I figured she would be soon. I like her and am happy for her :goodvibes

OP here; I'm so glad to see that this thread is still going strong! :cool1::thumbsup2

I just got caught up on the past couple shows, and all I can say is...those poor teens. Forget their lifestyle; just imagine how YOU would have reacted at 15/16 if your father gathered you and your siblings together and said "OK, we're moving in 3 days and you can't tell anyone or say goodbye to your friends". I would NOT have been happy and probably would have been a LOT more vocal than they are showing on film.

Question: has anyone ever seen a list of which kids belong to which mom? I keep losing track of them all; the only ones I can remember are Dayton (Robyn's son) and Mariah (Meri's daughter; she looks JUST like her mom!). If anyone wants to take a stab at a list, I'd love to see it! :cutie:

I remember it as Meri has Mariah, Christine has all the odd named kids and the rest (pre Robyn) belong to Janelle.

Who would name their kid Truly Brown?

Just found this thread. I have been watching from the start, I am kind of hooked. From the start I have not liked Robyn she gets on my nerves. I think this whole move is going to be a bad one for the family. With the wives liking their own homes and Robyn having this new baby I see a lot of conflict. I can not see why they would think this would be a good time to try for a baby. Silly to me, I guess. I feel like Robyn is very selfish and looking to get as much Kody time as she can and he is looking for that too from what I see. He is different with her. Lately with janelle is speaking he is looking bored and does not seem to be paying any attention or rolls his eyes, then with him saying oh Meri has a smaller family so why pay that much rent for her, to make her cry saying oh it took me a while to come to terms with it. Christine is Christine and I think demands attention but he seems to shut her down. Then with the whole move he was like well, Robyn doesn't think we should go until tomorrow. He is making decisions with her and not including the others just telling them whats what no matter what they feel. I don't know I just see favortism, which maybe it is because it is something new.
I feel bad for the kids. I could not imagine living this lifestyle, I guess if they are happy but I can see a lot of conflict and problems down the road. I missed the clips from next season but I am looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

What a great explanation, never thought of that! Common law marriage is ridiculous, that's just another way for "the man" to try and tell people how to live their lives. I do not see why all these women are willing to wait around on Cody, but if they are all happily consenting adults and the kids are not being used in some weird perverse fashion I say live and let live!

I remember it as Meri has Mariah, Christine has all the odd named kids and the rest (pre Robyn) belong to Janelle.

Great way to remember the kids, Christine's do have unusual names, I like the name McKeltie or MyKeltie or whatever it is!

Do any of you wish Janelle would just say "screw all of this" and move on and have her own life? She seems like she could be so strong and independant and totally have her own thing going on without sitting around every 4 days waiting for Mister Unruly Hair to show up. Of course, maybe it's because she is independant that she doesn't want a man around all day every day. Sitting here looking at DH who hasn't done anything but make a mess and play XBox since he got home from work I can kinda see where she'd be coming from. :rotfl2:
