Sister Wives, anyone???

Just happened to catch this for the second time ever last night.

One of the wives (sorry, don't really know the players) mentioned losing her job because of her "lifestyle." I think their lifestyle is beyond odd, but being FIRED for it sounds illegal.

And I do think it makes more sense for the viewers if he says "Janelle's kids"...but to say "Janelle and her kids"? ..Hmm...Freudian slip?

I agree. When I heard him say "her kids", it definitely sounded odd to me. I tried to overlook it, knowing he was just trying to make it clear which kids were going. But it just seemed like "Christine and our kids" would make more sense. If my DH said "my wife and her kids" I would wonder why he said that.

And does anyone thinks Christine resembles Robyn a little bit? Their noses and mouths are similar to me.

I thought that too...maybe she wasn't fired for the lifestyle, but for having the show about it? Maybe there's some legal jargon in her contract with wherever she works (I didn't watch last night) about "making the company look bad" or something.

Meri. I actually watched them last year on Oprah. Meri spoke of her job. She spoke completely different back then than last night. On Oprah, Meri said that while she loved her job and had been at that job for many years, TPTB called her in and told her they did not want any real media issues they might or would come to have; as a result of Meri (being on the show) and being employed at that job. And Meri said that while she was sad and will miss everyone she works with she completely understood their reasoning.

But now tonight she seems totally different, allot more angry. it was NOT about their lifestyle, it was about the show.

That's next week's show. Since it hasn't aired yet I'm not sure anyone knows why she is at the hospital.

If the hospitalization had been anything serious it would have been all over the internet. Most of the shows currently airing were taped while the first season was airing and almost everything...the job losses the move etc are all over the internet so no surprises are happening so far this season. I think TLC is just trying to tease with something that everybody doesn't already know about and it was probably something minor.

I would imagine as time has gone on she has become angry since it seems to be having a difficult time finding a job.

You know, I think all the Sister Wives are so pretty (Kody knows how to pick them) and Kody is cute (ish) and the kids are gorgeous and everyone is happy but the whole show just offends me. When I found out Robyn was pregnant I got the "ick" factor all over me. Do they really need ANOTHER kid? Did the other wives have to go through jealousy all over again? Its like the only one who isn't going through a roller coaster of emotions is Kody. This lifestyle just ain't kosher.

Wait until young bride has to lay there one night while he's in some other part of the house with one of the other wives. See how she likes it!

....or when he picks up a new wife. With a better honeymoon and a more lavish wedding. Kody got it made...for life. Secondly, I see such an amazing spiritual connection between Kody and his first wife Meri, that I don't see he has with the other wives.

Also, how does Janelle feel about Kody taking his other wife and their kids on her dime? It's been reported that she makes the bulk of the money. Christine doesn't contribute to the household financially, although she does watch all the kids. I think I might feel a bit resentful if Christine got a trip to Vegas and I got one night in a leaky tent like Janelle did.

I agree that Christine is making a valuable contribution by watching the kids. But when you think about it, Meri got a trip to Mexico, Robyn got the 10 day honeymoon in San Diego and Christine got the trip to Vegas. If I was Janelle I would be pretty ticked at my one night in a tent.

Either that or she forgot how subdued she was on Oprah when she told Oprah that they are all her friends and she DID understand that they had to ask her to leave her position. She was crying a bit when telling Oprah as she loved the job and the people she worked with … so Sunday I was surprised how mad she seemed.

I wondered that too, but maybe that's all she could take off of work for the time being.

I haven't read thru this entire thread and I'm new to the show. So how does he decide where he's sleeping at each night? Is there a schedule?
