Sister Wives, anyone???

TLC should do a cross over show and have the family from 19 Kids and Counting come and help the family from Sister Wives build a huge house. I would love to watch that episode! popcorn::

Funny you mention 19 Kids and Counting. I've always thought something about the 2 families was similar (crazy, I know) in a weird way. Just the way both families seem to have it "all" figured out. I dunno, can't explain it. :confused3

Well, both dads are really creepy.
Jim Bob is getting a tad better. He must have read online how he creeped everyone out with his learing at his wife.

What's the story with Christine's family? Inquiring minds want to know.....

I am new here but I saw this thread and had to reply that I think we should come up with a show called Brother Husbands. How cool would it to have several husbands take care of just one princess in the house....ME!!! You could pick an athletic type, an artsy type, maybe a nerd....and they would all just take care of 1 woman.

However, the bad thing about this idea is that they would all want you to have their babies...that would be a lot of births.

Just an Idea!

They did an episode of "Raising Hope" where the nephew came to visit and he was a "brother husband" who brought his family. It was really funny, and highlighted how interesting it would be to have that many men living together :rolleyes1

I think the bad thing about that would be all the paternity tests, because you wouldn't really know who the daddy was :rotfl:

Not to mention, who wants that many households to clean, etc.

No thanks, one is enough for me!

Wow...I hadn't even thought about the houses to clean. Plus...you would be the one moving from house to house I guess leaving your other husband in charge of the kids and house while you were gone....uugh.

Here I thought this was a clever idea.....I have never heard of it. Was the nephew thing for real? I thought it was only the husbands who could have plural wives....maybe the brother husbands is a different faith or something.

Raising Hope is a comedy on the Fox network -- I think it was meant as a spoof -- but in the comedy they showed some of the funny things that I think would happen if you had multiple husbands. I don't think it is a real faith, but you never know what might be out there...;)

I actually saw a show, and I think it was on TLC, about women who had more than 1 husband, well actually a husband and a boyfriend and they all lived together. The show was about non-traditional relationships.

The Mosuo tribe in southwest china is one of the only surviving matriarchal cultures today. At 13 the women are initiated into a "walking marriage" where a woman can have as many sexual partners as she wants. There is no word in the language for "husband" or "father" and paternity is never discussed at all. The culture is collective and all men take part in raising all children.

Very sad episode but as far as this "not being the America" Robyn learned about in school, umm, Robyn, I don't recall learning that polygamy was a lifestyle that was embraced when I was in school.

They brought this all on themselves when they chose to do the show. They have been in Utah since they all got married and was never bothered by anyone. They choose to do the show and with that brings tons of media attention which then sparks the law to start looking into their lifestyle.

I felt horrible for those kids. Horrible. To uproot them from all their friends with as much as a 3 day notice. Horrible.

That business with all the flat tires. Just so poorly organized.

I just catch bits & pieces of this show. Saw the most recent one where they leave Utah "for good". Is polygamy not against the law in Nevada? And the teenagers - don't they even consider how their poor choices affect them?

I usually try to understand things different from the way I am used to - but this guy is no prize! Why are they with him? What is so appealing to this type of relationship? I just don't see it.

You are right! I have watched the show a few times and thought, "What is the deal with him??" He is absolutely no prize!

Just saw a commercial for a special hour-long episode on June 5th. It showed a clip of Kody and Robyn talking to the camera...they were smiling, and Kody said "no one knows." Robyn said "we haven't told the family yet."

Sounds like somebody's pregnant....

It was announced in April on the internet & in papers. I *think* she is due in October.

Was that on "Secret Lives of Women"? That was quite the series. All sorts of stuff going on in the world that I had no idea about. I'm so ordinary. :)

What got me even more so with last nights episode is that they act like they are the victums in all of this:confused3 How are you a victum if you slathered yourselves all over tv and media for all the world to see.

They keep trying tyo justify the lifestyle by saying that people support them and that people have changed ,but not the laws. I'm sorry i don't care who you are Your lifestyle is not ok nor is it legal.
