So I was up for renewal and called today and they wouldn't honor the same price I have been paying and let me cancel. Has anyone actually had them let you cancel and been able to get back with a decent price? I was pretty surprised but he was not budging saying that the 6 months for $25 you only get 'sometimes'. He offered me 5 months but it was the principle here especially when we have another vehicle and are paying $25 for 6 months..

Yes, just wait them out. We cancelled a couple years ago and still get several dirt cheap offers per year from them, plus they turn a certain amount of channels back on for a few days during some holidays it seems.

When I was up for renewal, I decided to get the package that allows you to keep XM for life/5 car transfers for $400. That was six years ago and it's paid for itself already. I still have four car transfers available!

Do they still offer that deal??

Their best retention offer varies between 5 and 6 months for $20-30. It can depend on the type of radio (SiriusXM, Sirius, or XM). If you try to get the same deal, you're basically telling them they already gave you a special and they won't do it again. Never say you want the same deal, just keep saying you want to cancel because it's too expensive until they get to that last/best offer. If you turned down the 5 month offer, you turned down everything they could offer you.

I bought that package also. Great deal.

I called to cancel today. She offered me 2 additional months for free. But there's something wrong with the wiring in my car and I really wanted to cancel. Maybe by the time I hear back from them I'll have a new car! She was very hard to understand....at first I thought I was speaking to a computer!

We let ours cancel out too after our offer was up. We get fliers every few months saying we are getting a FREE two weeks of music. We enjoy it for that time, and just go with it. :cool1: We have Pandora on our phones, and Bluetooth in our car so it works the same for us, and its free!

I had to do the renewal/cancel thing in November. It seems they aren't offering the 6mon at $25 anymore, just the 5mon. Stinks, but it's better than full price so I took it. I'll see what they offer me next time. I am totally prepared to cancel if needed.

On another note, in 2012 we bought a car for my DD that came with one year of Sirus/XM. It cancelled in October and we've yet to get a renewal offer from them. And I can't find the serial number in her car anywhere, so I can't even call and try to get it renewed. (We lost the paperwork somewhere b/w the dealer and home).

I just got a notice from them yesterday that offers me 6 months for $25. Also says my radio is back on for 2 weeks: Jan 28-Feb 10.

Turn the radio to an XM channel (0 maybe?) and it will show your radio ID. Google it to find out the correct channel.
