Sinister Soiree Questions

This whole thing is just so relative to expectations and personal preference (like anything, I suppose)! When I saw the offerings, I was completely blown away. Like a pp suggested, the desserts look signature restaurant quality - highly themed, and more importantly to me, served at the table instead of a 20-choice buffet free-for all.

As far as Pete's issue with the time crunch, I'm also with a PP who gets a little uncomfortable with long, involved character meets. I just want a quick hello and a photo op, so what they have here is perfect. I also want to enjoy a lot of the rest of the party, so any more than an hour and that would seriously cut in.

As long as the parade viewing remains uncramped and easily accessible, this party is exactly what I'm looking for for the $.

I can't eat $100 in desserts either. I guess my expectations were high on what would be offered. I was thinking more options and themed desserts.... like the Frozen dessert party. No biggie. I have been super excited since day 1. No regrets. My son is over the moon about meeting the villians... even if only for an hour! I still think more themed and fun desserts should have been offered. Just my opinion ;)
Gotcha -- makes sense to me! :)

ME TOO!! :)

I also admittedly have a skewed view of "the money". Disney money is different than real life money. I would pay $100 in Disney for something that I would maybe spend $30 for anywhere else. :p

I'm still a bit unclear. I know they aren't signing autographs but can you still take pictures with the characters that are coming around to the tables?

From the posts on twitter yes you can even saw them sitting with guests and interacting..

Do they have a photographer for MM there or do you take your own photos? Also there was some debate on where the reserved place is for the parade & fireworks. Is it in the middle, behind the statue of Walt & Mickey facing the castle or is it in front of the castle, facing away from the castle? Do you check in for the soiree at the same place you'd check in for a reg. meal at the castle? A couple of more questions. How many minutes ahead of time did you check in for the soiree & what time did you arrive before the parade & fireworks? Thx in advance.

There is no Photopass photographer at the Soirée, it's all your own photos. People keep asking that, and I think thy question has been answered several times.

The viewing area is right behind the Walt and Mickey statue, inner ring of the hub, facing toward the castle.

This might be a silly question, but here it goes. Is the seating the same as it would be for a meal at CRT? Specifically, my party is only 2 people. For a meal at CRT we would get our own table, but will they put us with another party of 2 at the soiree (thus filling a table for 4)? I don't remember there being that many tables for 2 in the castle...?

Posted in the other soirée thread as well...

Saw this come across Twitter 10min ago... not sure if already posted but it's WDWNT's full review with pics (I followed them and posted links from their live tweeting last night):

After reading both the DIS review and WDW News Today, I'd say this event is definitely one I will enjoy. I am keeping my reservations!

Same here -- looking forward to it now, where I was in "wait and see" mode before. :)

Great review how how many guests at each sitting?

I'd assume CRT capacity... I've seen conflicting info on how many that is... 130-ish? Saw a report that a CM said it was limited to 100... I say that's only true if CRT capacity is 100... ;)

Seeing all the videos, makes me super excited! I can't wait to see the Tremaines. It is crazy I have not ever actually stopped to meet them, but I now I will! If I could be any Disney face character then I would want to be one of the sisters. Alas, being only 5'1 I am a little short. Oh well... :-)

It might be hard to be someone else. ;-) If you want to have a height contest with them, you'd win. I'm 5'9" and they were shorter than me.

just finished making our costumes and we are going as the Step-sisters, so excited!

That is so awesome! I am working on my sewing skills, but I don't I could pull that off. I am trying to finish a circle skirt to wear. Once I complete it, I am going to use my Silhouette machine to cut out silhouettes of the villains then iron them on. We will see if I can manage that. :-)

Haha... I think you thought I said 5'11... I wish I was that tall (well maybe not THAT tall... I would be in Maleficient territory at that point) :rotfl: I am only 5'1 (or 5'2 on a good day :cool1: )

A few of them would if you asked. We got maleficent and the step sisters autographs.

Hi , I saw you posted on the other thread re-the " magic shot " and you won't
know until you look at pictures: Can you share anything else about your experience ?

We really enjoyed the whole experience. It was my 2 daughters, 17 & 13 and myself. We checked-in in front of the castle around 7:45. Watched the first villains show, parade and fireworks from the reserved viewing area. It was not crowded at all and you are able to leave and return as you please. They has a photo pass photographer in the area taking pics in front the castle and the special soirée pics ( I'll look at them when I get home tonight). After the fireworks we rode some rides and met some other characters. We got to CRT around 11:30 to check in and were seated at 11:45. When we walked in the lobby of the restaurant they had several Villains available (including Frollo, Captain Hook, stepsisters, Queen of Hearts and I can't remember who else) for pictures and you could spend as much time as you wanted with them before heading upstairs to be seated. Each table had an appetizer platter with various cheese and crackers on it and each seat had a specialty drink and a glad of water at it along with a Maleficent dragon cup filled with candy and an autograph card. Shortly after being seated Lady Tremaine came out and welcomed everyone and introduced the other Villians, Maleficent, Dr Faciler, Evil Queen, Cruella De'Vil, and soon after the stepsisters came upstairs. As the villains made their way around to each table for pictures Lady Tremaine sang a few songs and then she introduced the desserts everyone got a plate of the 4 desserts. They were very good and I enjoyed them a lot more than the desserts at the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party. They we're more upscale desserts and something you would expect from CRT. The experience was definitely worth it and I'm glad we decided to do it. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer them.
