Single Worst Food Item in WDW

Hoop Dee Doo food (excluding the strawberry shortcake). Greasy chicken, cold, tough ribs, and who the heck cooks canned corn with green peppers!?!?! Yuck, poo-ie!!!

We have eaten at WDW many times over the past 6 years.

We usually stay 5/6 nights per trip. We are DVC members and never eat breakfast out, but alwyas have a sit dinner. If one is read this thread you would think that there are no places left in WDW to eat.

I have had Excellent, good and bad, depends on the day, the server and what you order.

OK - let me get this straight. I am trying to lose weight to look good for a trip to a place where I have to pay outrageous prices for gross food. Maybe I should eat now and diet while I'm there...;)

I was so excited and looking forward to eating lunch at Epcot-China. Geez, our Drive thru Happy Wok in Madison WI does a better job.

I just thought the Chinese Pavalion Cafe would of been a little more authentic. We were way disappointed. (And who eats pickled vegetables) I was stumped.

On our way home from WDW we stopped at a truck stop and they had a Buffet of Chinese, I said, "look, they have the exact same food the Chinese Plaza had at Epcot", my friend said, duh
"Sysco foods"(biggest distributor of fast food resturants.")

The entire buffet of the Crystal Palace (lunch) was disgusting. There was some kind of stew there that didn't even look edible. We ate there our 8th and last day last year, and it was a huge letdown because everything else we had eaten was pretty good, even restaurants that had gotten bad reviews on this board. I also wasn't very impressed with LeCellier. We had the Vouchers, and were hard pressed to find a appetizer we would like. We got the tomato stacks, and I don't think I've ever seen a more overpriced food item in my life. 2 slices of tomato on a plate!

On the other hand, we LOVED Chef Mickeys, and Sci-Fi, and had great service at both. The hostess at the Sci-Fi called our name while dh was over in line with the kids to see Mike and Sulley. She skated over there and stood in line with them and waited until they had their pics taken, then took us right to our table. Then, with the connections vouchers the kids had, the server made sure they got both souvenier cups and frisbees. :) And the food was great, too!

Hi - I thought the connections vouchers were counter service only - how did you use them at Sci Fi?

>>^..^<<

I hate the chlorinated taste of most of the sodas at WDW- it's not a uniquely WDW experience, but when we were kids, we hated them (and I don't think they've changed).

Anyone else remember the horrible fries they used to have waayyy back? (talking early 80's here) It was around the time curly fries first came out and they used to serve both curly and regular fries, but both tasted more like potato chips than regular fries.

The turkey legs- I have never seen anything so bizarre as a small child in a stroller consuming something bigger than it's own head. My mom did a complete double take and said 'what on earth is that child eating?' Luckily I frequent these boards and could explain:p

Seriously though, does anyone think that the standard of food has gone way up at WDW over the last 15 years? When we used to visit, the food was really atrocious and there were very few good places to eat. Last year, we re-visited after a long hiatus and both myself and my mother were really surprised at the caliber of the good restaurants (we ate at Citrico's and had breakfast at the buffet at the AKL).

I'd have to say the burgers at Rainforest Cafe. I don't think they were made with beef! YUCK!!! Annmarie

Turkey legs and the coffee!!! I would kill for a good cup of coffee at the parks!:p :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I've yet to find decent coffee in the parks, which is why I usually insist on a Perkins breakfast offsite - just to get a good cup of coffee. If I'm desperate, I will drink coffee at the All Star food court, but that stuff will put hair on my chest - and I'm a girl!:p

ROFL at this whole thread! I love everyones descriptions. ;)

I will 4th(or 5th,I lost count) the crunchy spaghetti at Tonys.
On the other hand we have eaten at the HDD in 00 and 02 and had awesome food both times, so go figure.

Anything served at Typhoon Lagoon.

How can they ruin the same chicken fingers everybody else serves?

We were really disappointed at Chef Mickey's.

I am surprised at Crystal Palace. We have been there three times and really enjoyed the food. Of course not as much as the characters :p

Here's another vote for those ugly looking turkey legs!!!!!

Grilled Filet of Beef with capellini alla Genovese, gorgonzola butter and red wine reduction

NEVER order this from Mama Melrose's

Couldn't eat a thing off the plate.

This was almost 2 years ago so I don't remember the names of the dishes, but both my DH and myself didn't like any side dishes we tried from the Boma Buffet. I also didn't like the Zebra Domes. I felt like a cave woman after eating nothing but Prime Rib. Although, I don't blame Boma for this, we tend to be basic meat & potato people and ended up at Boma's with another group of people who chose the restaurant.

Sorry to any Boma lovers.

DOLE WHIP yuck, yuck, yuck

I could not wait to try a dole whip. I really wanted to like it, but my taste buds just kept saying NOOOOOOOO.

My son loved them:rolleyes: I think his taste buds were taking a nap.

I'll have to go with the hot dog from the cart at the BW...and the vanilla/chocolate pretzel from the BW bakery. Disgusting-I threw it out.
Ohh, and we will never ever return to Alfredo's.
Two items that everyone raves about but that I found unpleasant--Dole Whips at MK and the cheese soup at Le Cellier. Gag.

My BBQ pork sandwich at Typhoon Lagoon after one of those notorious birds crapped on it. Gross.
