Single Riders

I think there might be some more, but when I went in October, I was able to use single rider for:

  • Splash Mountain
  • Mulholland Madness
  • Maliboomer
  • Toy Story Midway Mania
  • Soarin' Over California
I think there might be one or two more, but I'm not sure what they are, so would rather not get your hopes up with false information :thumbsup2

Single Rider Option

Although FASTPASS is a great way to beat the long lines, Disneyland also offers ‘single rider’ lines. If you’re willing to split up your party, you will be seated in any open seats on the ride.

The below attractions currently offer the ‘Single Rider’ option. If you can’t locate the single rider line, see the Cast Member at the entrance and they will direct you. This is great if you have teenagers who tend to ride the same rider over and over again.

Disneyland Park

Splash Mountain
Indiana Jones Adventure

Disney's California Adventure Park

Toy Story Midway Mania!
California Screamin
Grizzly River Run
Maliboomer
Mulholland Madness
Soarin’ Over California

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but are most rides two-person rides, meaning one adult with one child or two children together? Our scenario will be one adult with two children for part of our trip (DH will be on business for part of each day we're there). I'm hoping it'll work out okay.

My DBF and I took our DD2 last summer and literally between Fastpass and single rider lines did not wait more than 5 minutes for ANY ride. It was awesome. It is a must do for us! California Screamin has it also, I walked right on!

Big Thunder can seat 3 sometimes and if not the third person sits in front of the parent and you can ask to sit in the same mine car.
Casey Jr. has the cages and some seats are for 3 if you are small.
Pinochio, Snow White, Alice is usually two in back and one in front for 3 some.
Bobsleds would be two with one in the seat in front.
Small World, train, monorail, pirates, canal boats are able to sit 3 side by side.
haunted mansion should be 3 if small but if not then separarate ride vehicles.
Peter Pan and Mr. Toad maybe three if it is kids and if not seperate ride vehicles.
Tea Cups can hold 3.

My sis and I always use single ride at CA Screamin'. We never wait more than five minutes. :) We usually get seat in the same or consecutive train. :)

I thought Tower of Terror had single rider lines. I'm very disappointed to find out otherwise. :sad1:

I just returned with 2 kids and myself. Most rides are 2 or more people across one seat. However, the girls always wanted their own seat. So I sat by myself in a row in front or behind them. CM's will almost always honor your requests.

How old are your kids? What rides?

SilentFeline, remember, they do have Fast Pass. And once you get into the building, keep an ear out for them calling for certain numbers of riders. If they call for "one", get up there!

Screamin' can be ugly, if there are many Single Riders and a grumpy CM seating people. Hubby was in the SR line there and the CM was ignoring them. Kept sending cars out with just one rider in the row. Finally the line got so long they took the people in the SR line into the elevator, over the tracks, down the elevator, and into a holding area. Where the group was held, while more people joined the SR line *and were seated* while the original group of SRs were held in a "pen". finally one of the group spoke up to the CM, and the CM held up the regular line and let all of the penned SRs on at the same time.

It was beyond ridiculous, was frustrating for everyone (especially as the new SR people were seated while the first ones were held!), and took upwards of 20 minutes. I personally have experienced very short waits in the SR line there, but hubby didn't. Something to be aware of.

I have had many bad experiences with the SR line at Scream'n like your DH Bumbershoot. I find it is much more common on busy days, but have had it happen a few other times as well. The longer the SR line the more likely they are not using the line much and you will be waiting forever!

The SR line I have had the best wait with was Splash, the worst Scream'n and TSMM. I have not found Indy to always have a SR line but when it does it tends to be quick.
