Single Rider Queues/Wait Times?

In just 9 days I will be in Disneyland! Woohoo!!

I am travelling solo, and plan on utilizing the Single Rider option as much as possible.

On one blog I was reading, the author mentioned for RSR, if the single rider line is up to the bridge, to try again at another time. (I'm not familiar with the location of the bridge yet, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.) This got me wondering about other single rider lines, and how to tell if it is a long line or not. Does anyone have any experience with the single rider lines, and how to decide if the line is too long or worth a shot?

Ask the CMs how long the wait will be. On most rides they'll stop handing out SR passes (RSR doesn't do passes, it's just the line) if it's too long.

Interesting! I did not know that CM handed out actual passes, I thought it was it's own separate line. So will I just go to the main line entrance and let them know I want the single rider option?

RSR was the only ride built after they started offering SR and is the only one with a line. Usually it's where the FP return is, it's been awhile since I've done Splash, but that one you used to go through the exit. You may have to check in with a CM now. Matterhorn doesn't have FP, but it's usually near the awning. At Indy the FPs are on the right, the CM with the passes are on the left. Just ask about single rider and if you ask the wrong CM they'll direct you. I also believe that the SR entrances are marked on the map.

we've done single rider for grizzly river and it's almost always a walk-on. we did it just once for soarin' and it didn't seem to save us much time, BUT one of the hangars broke down while we were waiting, so...

The most common SRL I've used is Matterhorn and it can be really hit or miss how long it will. In general, I would say that if the line is to the turnstile, then I would skip it. I've been there when the CMs were cutting off the SRL at that point and when they've extended it beyond there, but if it's at turnstile, it's generally a pretty length wait. That being said, I've had really hit-or-miss luck with SRL at the Matterhorn; 5 people ahead of you can mean anything from 5 minutes to 30 minutes! It all depends on how the groups in the regular line are distributed (in my experience, CMs will try to fill the vehicle with groups from the regular line before using SRL).

As someone has already posted, the Splash Mountain SRL is through the exit. There isn't always a CM there, so just go through until you hit the unload platform, then go right. You will cross a bridge to the load side.

Matterhorn they hand out SR passes. Ask the CM at the queue entrance. They sometimes won't hand them out if the ride isn't busy, like in the morning when they are running only one side and the queue hasn't built yet. Just get in line, the wait won't be long.

Don't bother using SR for Soarin', you'll wait almost as long as stand-by. Use a FP, and if they need one rider to fill a row, a CM will call out for someone riding solo.

For RSR, if the SRL line is to the bridge then the wait will be about 30min, but that's still better than the 90min+ standby time!

RSR's single rider line is well-marked, to the left of where you enter. The bridge is over an "Underpass" soon after you get in line. YMMV on wait time, but as someone pointed out it's always quicker than standby.

I know from experience that CMs hand out neon-card passes at Indiana Jones and at Matterhorn so they know where to send you and so others can't duck under and cut in line near the end.

We just used single rider at Dland last Saturday. Matterhorn was pretty quick. The lines were not to the turn styles plus they had both sides open.

The first time my kids went SR for Splash they literally went through the exit, up and over the bridge and walked practically on. The second time there was a line outside the exit of the ride. That was about a 30 min wait. Still less than the 60 min standby. Both times there was a CM at the exit directing you where to go.

GRR also has a single rider through the exit. In my experience they will expect you to have the pass for riding GRR single rider. I think you can get them from the CM at the FP return, if not the CM can direct you to where you can get one. They're usually very helpful.
