Can someone explain the single ride lines. Does it just mean that you ride with random people? Is it really a lot faster than standing in the regular lines?

Basically you're a seat filler. For example, Test Track holds 6 people per car so they may board a family of 4 and then take 2 rides from the single rider queue. It's a way to ensure they're filling all available seats and yes, the wait time is drastically less. Last October TT had a 70 minute wait but I was on within 15 minutes thanks to the single rider option.

I rode single rider with my sister for Test Track back in 2011. We both ended up in different cars each time. I was always with a family. :rotfl: Stand by was 50 minutes and we were on in about 10!!

Same trip, me, my sister and my brother did single ride for Space Mountain and we all ended up in different cars. I think it was Space Mountain...if not, I rode in a separate car!

Love the single rider line! As pp said yes you are a seat filler and will likely sit with random people. I wish more rides had it. For Test Track and Expedition Everest I found those lines to be much shorter then standby.

Last week I rode Test Track in the single rider line; it was posted at 20 minute but it took nearly 40. Maybe that was a fluke, though. Yes, it's faster than the standby.

There are only 3 rides at WDW that have dedicated single rider lines: Test Track, Rock n Roller Coaster, and Expedition Everest. But there are other rides that will call out for single riders when you get close to the boarding area. Space Mountain is one. Soaring is another.

Thanks! I knew I rode Space Mountain in a different car, but I didn't recall a single ride line there. :)

Mission: SPACE does singles too.

It does not have a dedicated SR queue. At most any attraction you may get asked for singles (or doubles) near the boarding area--this is not the same thing.

Its amazing what that some families with younger kids will split up and do single rider. I remember once getting an extra 6 year old joining our family on TT.

I've seen the Everest single rider line read 10 minutes all day while the normal line was 30-40 minutes.

This sounds like a great way for my 14yo niece to get on some the rides that my DS & DD aren't ready for. Thanks!

DD and I did it on our last trip when she was 8. I wouldn't have felt comfortable doing it when she was 6, but she was fine with it at 8. I always had her go before me and she knew she had to wait for me at the exit. On EE and RnRC, we were often on the same train/limo, just in different rows. If we weren't on the same, then she was just one train ahead of me. Once at TT, we ended up still next to each other in the same car.

The minimum age (at least at DL) for single rider is 7 years.

That is true. But I've seen it not enforced. I was on a solo trip in 2010 and saw a very young boy, definitely younger than 7, in the single rider line at EE. I was certain the CM would turn him away, but she didn't. She just measured and since he met the height requirement, sent him into an empty spot. I was pretty ticked off at the adults who were with him. He seemed anxious and hesitant to ride alone but the adults with him were pushing him to be in the single rider line.

My husband and I did single rider for Everest two times in a row, and both times we were in the same car. Funny.

My DS was younger than 7 and used the single rider lines for TT and Everest. We were in line with him and that seemed to be all they cared about, well that and being tall enough . It seemed they defined riding alone as entering the line alone because we were never stopped and rode them many times this way over a couple different days.

Your mileage may vary of course.

I thought the srl for RNR was SLOW compared to the rest of the rides mentioned. Yeah, maybe still shorter than the sb line but your not getting on in 10 min. Like others have mentioned for other rides, but with only 3fp's a day srl's are becoming more necessary.

I will say the first time we were a party of 3 on EE and I needed to ride with DS and that would leave DD11 to ride with a stranger, eek! The cm was great, when I looked over to see the teen boy at the front of the srl line another eek! She didn't miss a beat and forced the line to come out such that DD ended up w/a teen girl, whew! Now the kids are older and we sometimes need a stranger to fill in and sometimes we ARE the stranger. Your party still gets to stand in line together and your time apart averages 4 minutes or less.
