Can someone explain the single ride lines. Does it just mean that you ride with random people? Is it really a lot faster than standing in the regular lines?

Stand by was 50 minutes and we were on in about 10!!There are only 3 rides at WDW that have dedicated single rider lines: Test Track, Rock n Roller Coaster, and Expedition Everest. But there are other rides that will call out for single riders when you get close to the boarding area. Space Mountain is one. Soaring is another.

Mission: SPACE does singles too.
It does not have a dedicated SR queue. At most any attraction you may get asked for singles (or doubles) near the boarding area--this is not the same thing.
Its amazing what that some families with younger kids will split up and do single rider. I remember once getting an extra 6 year old joining our family on TT.
The minimum age (at least at DL) for single rider is 7 years.
