Except that this is not a "loophole". Disney wants guests to use the single rider line to get every run of every ride as close to 100% capacity as possible. They want folks in the single rider line. They don't care who those people are, as long as they are willing to ride alone. I have never once used the single rider line, because I don't like to ride alone. That's why there is a standby line---so guests like me can opt to wait as long as necessary to ride with their party.I do think it's an abuse of the system, and if wait times continue to rise, it will eventually result in a change - a la BOG cupcakes. Abused loopholes eventually get fixed.
If anything, Disney probably likes it best when the Single Rider Line is just marginally shorter than the Standby Line, because then they are still technically offering the chance of a shorter line, while also keeping the standby line as short as it can be at any given moment.
