Single Day Ticket and FP+ Questions

We are planning a 1 day visit to MK and I have some questions about tickets and FP+ please. We've always used a package and stayed on site for previous visits and have never used FP+ so this is all new to me.

We will be buying single day tickets from disney.com. My plan is to order them in advance so we can schedule our 3 FP+ 30 days out. That is how it works yes?

Now when I order the tickets I'm assuming that I do not need to designate which day we plan to use them? If that assumption is correct, is there a limit on how long the ticket is good for?

What if I purchase the tickets at least 30 days in advance and I schedule our FPs for 4/24 and we decide to visit on 4/25 instead, can I just switch my FP's to what's available for 4/25? I'm assuming I can only schedule FP's for one day at a time if I have a 1 day ticket?

I'm asking because our plan is for 4/24 but if it's raining we would probably opt to stay at Universal that day and enjoy all of the indoor rides and would switch our MK day to 4/25 or wait on MK until our next time in Orlando which would be in October. Want to make sure the tickets would still be valid if we decided to wait for October? If so, could I just cancel our FP's and then go back online 30 days before our October visit to schedule FP again? Scheduling the original FP's for 4/24 doesn't in any way activate the tickets does it?

Sorry for all the questions, TIA for your responses.

Yes. As soon as you link your tickets to your MDE account, the 30-day booking window opens.

If you need to change FPs, all you need to do is cancel your first set and reschedule for the new day.

As long as you never use the ticket entitlements to enter a park, the tickets remain valid in your MDE account.

Yes you are correct in how it works by purchasing on Disney.com

You will only have ability to book one days worth of FP+. You calendar would start revolving as soon as the tickets are linked in MDE...once you need to book a new day (if you need to) you need to cancel whatever day you have booked and you would need to re-book another day.

Thank you both. Is there an expiration on a single day park ticket?

No, the tickets will not expire. They'll remain in your MDE until you decide to use them.

One day tickets do not expire until they have been used to enter a park. They will sit there in your account until you actually use them.

Yep note what they've said above...you can book one day's worth of FP+ at 30 days out. If you change your mind about that day then you need to cancel them and start over on another day. You won't be able to just move the FPs you made from one day to another.

So the only way to use the FP system is to already have your tickets purchased? I will be a chaperone with a large group of HS students and I don't really know when we will get our tickets....Can anyone direct me to where I can find out about the FP system? It's been several years since I've been. Tia!
