I am single Dad with 2 girls and they are going to go on all the coasters but want to ride with me. Can on wait with a CM while I ride then swap when I come in. Have others done this? How do I go about this?

Thank You,
Charlie

How old are the girls? I don't think a CM will let one wait and swap. Your best bet is have them ride together and you ride behind them.

I think having them ride together if they are too scared to ride alone is the best option. On the milder rides you can take turns riding with each.

Most of the time, it's just me and my 2 kids. They either ride together or I sit next to the youngest. Odd numbers always leave one sitting alone :)

Hmmm...."coasters" would equal "mountains" plus CS coaster and IJ. On CS, I'd agree with having them sit together with you behind or in front of them.

BTMRR, you should all three be able to sqeeze in, unless your pooh sized we've done this plenty of times with one average and two small adults.

IJ, you'd all be in one row, so no issues.

Splash everyone gets their own seat.

Matterhorn: You could sit behind them and they could ride together.

SM: like matterhorn/CS

BUT, if you want to ride on those rides where there is side by side seating for two, are the girls old enough to wait at a specific spot? You could all go through the line toegether, then one wait at the exit for you two. My guess is you'll have to que up again, but strategically it could be done fairly easily, especially if you're there multiple days.

Easiest solution: Take a second adult: cousin, friend, aunt, or uncle that enjoys the kids! Then you can take turns.

On some of the rides you'll be able to fit in next to them. On Big Thunder Mountain, you'll likely be able to ride with them--I can't really do most coasters (Gadget's Go Coaster in Toontown kills me) and my husband was easily able to ride with both of our children last year when they were four and six. He's six feet tall and both of my children are VERY tall for their ages.

How old are your kids? I would say have them ride together and you ride behind or you ride with the younger one and have the older one sit behind. I don't think they are going to let you ride with one kid and have the other one waiting then immediately ride again w/o waiting in another line.

Is there any way to do Rider Swap?

Not that I'm aware. Child swap is basically like a fastpass where one person waits outside the ride. The one adult goes and rides, then comes back to watch the kids while the other adult goes and rides.

Most Disney rides are entered one place and exited another, so it's not like you could exit the ride, grab the other kid and ride right away. They are not set up to let people wait this way. If a child is too small to ride alone, then I don't think I would want to leave them outside the ride sitting on a bench alone while I did a "child swap fastpass" kind of thing.

You stand in line and you ride We don't always get to sit next to who we want, and that's just the way it is. I'd prepare the kids in advance. The CM's are not babysitters who will watch one kid while the other rides. Sorry.

You didn't state their ages and heights... but basically i agree with what the others said. You really should not leave one alone and No, the Cast Member can't watch them a'la rider switch.

If there happens to be a particular ride that they really DO want to go on but really NEED someone... you could ask about a CM ride along. I had a CM offer me one when I was alone w/my three kids and both of my littles decided they NEEDED to be with me (on the jumpin jellyfish). It's not something they can always do for obvious reasons, but if you are in a real pinch, you could *ask*.

They are 11 and 9 and tall enough for all rides. Just they are going on the coaters for their first time. It's all work out

Oh you'll be fine. Take a cell phone for both you and the kids. They come in really handy if someone wants to ride something alone (my 11YO will single rider CS a dozen times while 9YO and I do other things). If there's something you want to do with one girl but the other isn't interested, you could have her stand in line and then just walk through and wait at the exit. I've done this with my kids plenty and it's totally a non-issue.

For those with younger kids in this situation that may stop by some day wondering the same thing.....when my girls were little we would try to make friends in line who was an odd number and ask if they'd mind sitting with one of the girls. Off the top of my head I'm thinking Jumping Jellyfish and Gadget. And actually, on Gadget we've had cast members sit with the older DD when younger DD flipped when we got to the front of the line.

I would prefer, and I'm sure my kids would too, to ride behind of or in front of me when it wasn't their turn to ride with me rather than sitting alone waiting for me and taking more time. Just keep that in mind. Go into it with them knowing they'll be taking turns with you or riding together and you alone. None of the rides are very scary, although I understand being their first time they'll be nervous. Have fun :)
