After 5 long years, my Keurig finally died :( Not interested in spending so much money for a new one. Any suggestions for a different budget single cup brewer?

Wow, amazing it lasted five years. I only got two out of mine :-( I had to replace it with another big one though. I am pretty sure that it takes bigger cups and pours bigger cups also. I did decide to use filtered water though so I don't have that scaling accumulation.

Sorry I don't have any recommendations though

Th only single cup I know about is the Keurig. I have seen some small 4-cup coffee pots around pretty cheap. :confused3

The Black and Decker Brew and Go is only about $17 at Amazon and comes with a travel mug you brew the coffee into. It uses regular ground coffee, my dh prefers it over the Keurig.

I have a 4 cup Mr Coffee (really like 2 large cups) you can make whatever amount you want. I think it cost $14.99 and I've had it for 20 years. Keurig is the only one I can think of if you want the premade cups. Sam's Club has their Keurig for $90 (member special) it comes with the reuseable K-cup, filter and like 30 Kcups.

I like my Keurig but I was growing tired of it. I bought a single cup pour-over ceramic "brewer" from Starbucks.
It's a little bit more of a hassle than the Keurig. But I like being better able to control the temperature, size, and strength of my cup of coffee and I like being able to use any kind of coffee.

I have and love my Keurig (and replaced it the same day that it died after 3 years of hard work for me), but I always keep one of these guys in the cabinet in case of a power outage. I can make hot water on the grill and still have a cup of hot coffee!

Ours finally died and don't know if I want to get another one. I have coffee in k-cups. I supper I can just empty the coffee out of them and brew the normal way.

My sister loves her Bella one scoop one cup. No pods or anything to buy and it only costs around $20. I saw one at Wegmans the other day and picked it up for DH. He is the only one who drinks coffee in our house and just one cup a day in the winter. Haven't tried it out yet

If you belong to the Green Mountain Coffee club, they will send you a replacement Keurig for free--one of the club benefits is a pretty much lifetime warrantee on the Keurig.. I'm on my third Keurig now (in about 5 years). I only paid for the first one.

If I were you I'd join the club for a month, then ask for a new brewer.

We had a Tassimo for a few years and liked it, but the cups were hard to find around here, and I wasn't interested in ordering them online. We now have a Keurig, and I like it, but it doesn't do cappuccino like the Tassimo did.

I didn't know that. I belong to it too!

I've been a Cafe Express member of GMC for years now and never knew this! I joined back in 2009 when there was a House Party with a free Keurig. I still have that same machine. I've had to descale it a couple of times over the years, but it's still working!

Good to know that I can get my B44 replaced if it does die. What's the procedure for requesting a new one?

Bodum, for French-press style coffeemakers. There's a manual (you boil your own water and pour it onto the coffee) and an automatic version.

I didn't know this either!
My Keurig just died. Even though it was 3 year old, I called Keurig customer service, they offered me a new brewer at a discounted price. I purchased a new Keurig direct from them for just under $100. shipping was included. My obligation was to send the little brewer basket back to them. Next time I'll go to Green Mountain - have been a Cafe Express member for years. Hmm the things you find out on the Dis!:goodvibes

Thanks for this information. I'm going to look into joining this since we got a Keurig Brewer for last Christmas. :cool1: And we use it everyday now.
