Singing in the Rain Umbrella trick?

Hi,

Long time lurker becoming active in anticipation of another trip to WDW. I've heard the umbrella hanging on a lamp post in the WDStudios park will squirt you with water, or do something, but in my trip a couple of years ago I could never make anything happen.

Is hanging around there, hopping up and down , and yanking on the handle sort of like saying I'll go on a snipe hunt? In other words, no such thing exists and park veterans get a chuckle out of me?! LOL!

It really does exist.. however, in the past it has been turned off a time or two due to water restrictions. Maybe that's what happened to you.

Anyways.. good luck in your future "snipe" hunt.. lol... I remember doing that to our church youth group kids when they were younger and the church went on a group camp out.

There is someone who posts to these boards, who has a picture of herself in the rain in her signature. So it does exist. I have to look for it on our next trip.

We were there on May 22, it was working then. My DS4 thought it was pretty neat. Nobody else was around it, but once my son had been soaked (must stand on the black square) lots of other people came over to have a look. I believe it's located on the street bit across from the Light, Motor, Action show.

We were there at the end of May too and it was definitely working. It was on our way too/from LMA and we couldn't figure out how to work it either until a little boy told us to stand on the blak mat square. We thought it was just a cute phot op, but it got us cool too!!! Really neat!

There is also a fire hydrant back in that area that will wet you if you get close. It was on one day and off the other that we were there this past weekend, so not sure if it is supposed to always be on.

Awe! Thank you much! The rain started RIGHT after my boyfriend snapped the picture! Oh well, just a good excuse to go back and get another picture, right?
