One of the benefits of working from home - I can take time out whenever I like....

...just snuck in a viewing of Singin' in the Rain.

What a great, GREAT movie. It had been a while since I saw it - I had forgotten just how good it is! Funny, gorgeous music, dancing at its very finest, smart and full of classic songs and moments.

If you get a chance, give it a look.

Shame on you, Bernie!! Now GET BACK TO WORK!!!:p

are you hiring??:jester:

If you were here yesterday....you could have done a live version....and I would have filmed it for the CB!

Was this an empathy viewing for those of us drowning in water on the east coast???? ;)

This is one of my all-time favs!!!

now heading off humming Moses supposes his toeses are roses but Moses supposes erroneously...

Ahhhhhh. Gene Kelly. A man. A real man. An athletic, handsome, manly man who COULD DANCE! AND SING!!!

"Singin' in the Rain" is one of my all-time favorites too...

My DD's favorite all-time movie!! This year, for her piano recital,
she's doing a medley from 'Singing in the Rain' ... while all the other kids are playing classical pieces.

Shannon - you should check it out. It really is something.

Dodnie, you're right! Kelly is amazing in this one. The physicality of his dance (and Donald O'Connor's) is simply amazing!

The dance scene with Kelly, Cyd Charisse and the long scarf is absolutely great. Perfectly choreographed and it works so well with the music. Just one of many perfect scenes!

LOL, Shep! I will admit - working from home has some pretty good benefits - but I will make that time up today! :)

Gina - it's a great movie for a cold winter day.

Swanmom - I imagine that medley will be be wonderful!

Diane - getting back to work NOW! :)

Knowing how much you LOVE to sing, Bernie, I read the post title and thought *you* were singing in the rain!! :) :)

I LOVE this movie!! I forced one of my friends to watch it with me Saturday night, and he ended up loving it too lol. :) :) :)

an all time favorite here. I sing "moses supposes his toeses are roses" to Daniel during diaper changes. He thinks its pretty funny.

I love this movie. The first time I watched it was about 5 years ago. I was on a liquid diet for about 6 days. I couldn't eat anything I couldn't see through. Needless to say, I had no energy. I had Stephen go rent me a bunch of old time favorites. I ended up watching Singing in the Rain 4 or 5 times. It's a great flick! I didn't know Gene Kelly was so handsome either.

This is Krystal's (DD) favorite movie, ok!! I even took her picture under the "Singing In The Rain" umbrella at the Disney-MGM Studios last fall. :teeth:

BTW, water was still being used to "rain" down on the umbrella last October. I think during the drought, WDW had turned it off but it was back on when we last visited. It is located around the corner from Al's Toy Barn. This is one of the fun (and FREE) things to do at MGM.

This is VERY interesting as far as timing of thread, Mr. Bernie .....!!!!!

When at this very spot just recently, decided with FairyGF to one day host a "Singing in the Rain" DIS meet there, as also a great BEER and Pretzel stand right there near the umbrella! Don't think that SSB had ever really paid much attention to this location before.... a cool, and as you mentioned Scott "free" thing to experience.

I love this movie!!! One of my all time favorites!!!!

Now if I could only get my company to let me telecommute so I could watch it during the day as well :teeth:

A classic movie that never disappoints. I'm so jealous - I wish I could watch instead of being in my office - lucky you! What's the next classic you're going to sneak in? Maybe you could set up a thread and update us every few minutes with what scene is going on so we could pretend we are working, but actually reliving a movie experience. We could call it The DIS Goes To The Movies. (I know, the bitter cold is finally getting to me!)
