im just kinda of getting started. i wanna get some tips and stuff for singing. and i hope to start writing my own songs too.

im going for kind of a mix of dashboard and nevershoutnever! and im calling my band AllSystemsGo! right now i only do covers..

Everything. haha. I'm currently in my church's choir.

I usually just find some chord progressions and usually write lyrics to it later...but if Im really inspired I write lyrics first and then find something that goes with it...really depends on the mood.

The stuff I write is all acoustic...I feel like Im a mix of Jason Mraz and Cobra Starship. Im just working on recording my stuff at the moment.

i've been getting singing lessons for a few years now and would definately recommend it. anyway, here are some tips:
-make sure you're breathing properly. breathe into your diaphragm.
-engage your stomach muscles to support higher notes. this makes them less likely to be shaky.
-DO NOT strain for notes. this will destroy your voice. if you find yourself straining, you are probably placing the sound in your throat. try placing it more towards your nose. i know it sounds weird but it works. try playing around with the note, moving the placement. it might take some practice.
-if you are strugglling with a note, try using different sounds or pronouncing the word differently.
