Singer Simple Sewing Machine difficulty!!!

Help!!!

I just got a brand-new singer simple sewing machine. I went to use it tonight and it will sew for about 30 seconds and then jams and comes unthreaded!

I've tried re-threading it, I've replaced the bobbin, I've made sure the thread tails were long enough and it's STILL doing this.

I'm getting so frustrated and ready to chunk it out the window!!!!

Any advice?

My DD just got a new machine for her bday, its a brother.. I think. but we were having the same issue with her little machine. My mom took her to the store and turns out that we were threading it wrong, and that the tension was set wrong. apparently I didnt read the book. I can ask her when she gets up in the morning what the numbers are supposed to be, that might set you in the right direction.
