Since when did Jen become Jenn?

I think its Jenn because Jen is really informal. I save my Jen for a few close friends and my family.

At work I go by Jennifer, I hate Jenny. It makes me feel like I am 10 or something. If I were to go by "Jen" it would be spelled Jenn. (If that makes sense, you gotta know me really well to use the Jen!)

I think it is kinda funny how crazed we can be about our names. I do correct people who call me Jenny. It is worse than nails on a chalk board to me when I hear it. I was one of 4 in grade school, we all used our name and last name inital to keep things straight.

Bingo! I think we almost said the same thing. That is exactly how I feel. I do hate it when my customers just automattically call me Jenni. I want to smack them. My name is Jennifer and you don't know me well enough to call me Jenn. In High School there were two of us Jenn's. So they all started calling me by my last name. It got confusing when they called me at home by my last name. My mom would say "which one?". They still call me by my last name today. They're the only ones' though. Everyone else is Jenn (family, friends) and Jennifer (professionally).

I also don't like it when people immediately call me Jenn. It's ok here (hence my signature) since we're all friends, but it's not ok with people I've just met. I go by Jennifer at work, Jenn or Jenz with my friends, and a few very old friends call me Jaycee (my initials used to be JC).

As far as Jenny, only my sister is allowed to call me Jenny.

I'm Jennifer but I'll answer to Jen, not Jenn. I introduce myself as Jennifer and refer to myself as Jennifer but people always take it upon themselves to call me Jen.

I don't take too kindly to being called Jenny.

When I was younger I always spelled my friend's name Jenn. :confused3 After I saw it spelled Jen I started spelling it that way. In fact Jen is coming to visit me this weekend. :cool1:

I am Jennifer, grew up as Jenny. Friends and family call me Jenny or Jenn. I spell mine Jenn now when I sign off on emails mainly because there is another mom in my playgroup that is a Jen... short for Jennifer. She goes by Jen so I use Jenn.

Me too!!!

It's kinda weird to keep reading my name over and over lol. :rotfl2:

This is weird but every Jennifer I've ever known has always been Jenn not Jen.

This is so funny! How many of you were born in 72-74? I'm only asking because I was supposed to be a Jennifer Lynn....but there were 12 (yes, twelve) Jennifers in the hospital when I was born, and many were Jennifer Lynns! So, Mom named me (after 3 days) after the heroine in her romance novel she had at the hospital (Karissa).

I was actually born in '75 but all the other Jennifers I know are either Jennifer Lynn or Jennifer Ann. I have the distinction of being Jennifer Laura. :rotfl:

Another Jennifer here! Born in '66! I always introduce myself as Jennifer, but as others have said, people take it upon themselves to call me Jen....oh, and I spell it Jen, not Jenn! :) I don't mind when people call me Jen. I don't mind Jenny either, in fact, my boyfriend calls me Jenny the shiny penny! And my 2 best friends call me Jenny all the time.

I teach in a daycare, and we have one little girl, age 2 1/2, whose name is Jennifer. Not too many kids are Jennifers nowadays.

I love the name Jennifer! I always wanted to be a Jennifer, but instead I got stuck with Stephanie. Blech!

I know a Jennifer who goes by Jenn. Not sure why, but maybe because it looks better? I think it does!

Funny there are almost no little ones with that name anymore- just a bunch of 30 somethings.
That's because all those 30-somethings know at least 10 Jennifers. :rotfl: I swear my sister has at least 10 friends named Jennifer or a variation.
but instead I got stuck with Stephanie. Blech!
I like Stephanie. Steph for short. It's cute. :goodvibes It's way better than just plain Beth. If my name was Elizabeth I would go by that. Never Beth. I should legally change it.

I was born in 73 .... kinda named after my dad who is John Lee, I am Jennifer Lea. My close friend who is Jennifer was born in 74.
