DH has been a cop longer than we've been together. Before that he worked for the National Park Service (man, I would have loved to have seen him in that hat!)

Checking in! My DH has been a full-time officer for about 13 years (seasonal for 4 summers before that). We've been married almost 15 years. Ever since I've known him he has always wanted to be a cop. He's a typical cop personality - other friends are cops, a little wary of people, sits with his back to the wall in restaurants, etc. He still has the drive, but he can also tell you to the date of when his retirement will be!:goodvibes He's on the 6pm-6am shift right now - I guess that's why I some computer time to myself!

Hey neighbor! My dh is correction's officer and works nights.

Howdy ho there tevagirl! Love your location - only people at the bottom of the cape can truly appreciate the meaning of "exit zero"!:thumbsup2

This seems like a great time to use my 600th post. DH has been a deputy for 28 years and is also counting down the weeks until possible retirement.

What about cousins? DW has three in service.

That's about how long DH's been doing it too, but we've been married 10. I laughed at your restaurant comment because he always has to sit so he's facing the people coming into the place.

Mine also works nights- I like it like that. I think I'd go crazy if he went to days. I like having the quiet house at night after DD goes to bed. :surfweb: :happytv: :laundy:

Cop wife here too! Hubby has been a cop since forever! We've been together for 11 years. He has had a great day shift job, but is getting ready to go to graveyards, 4 10s. I am not looking forward to that. He makes quite a good wife. I don't know what I'll do now that he isn't here to make dinner every night and do the dishes and all the housework! His old schedule was 7am to 3pm, 5 days a week, with me leaving at the same time he did, and coming home around 7pm or so....
At least he'll get three day weekends.:cheer2:

Not married to a cop, but I am the mother of a rookie. My son has wanted to be a police officer since he was 4. He graduated from college in May and from academy in September, and his first night on his own after field training was Christmas night, 3rd shift. He loves his job. After so many years, it is still hard to believe that he is actually a grown up and an officer. I'm so proud of him I could bust:thumbsup2

Married to a cop, and I was a cop! DH is going on his 13th year and I was on for 7 years (1997-2004). I had to quit to stay home with our twins. I loved it though! There were some crummy parts, but when there were good days, it was fun!!

DH has been in law enforcement for about ten years now. We have been married for 19 years, I never imagined he would become a police officer when I married him. Or that I would either for that matter. I loved the job, but I love being a mommy even more!

DH works 4 to midnight. It is his preferred shift and it works great for us right now.

DH's neice and nephew are also both police officers. Seems like it is becoming a family tradition.

Cops wife checking in. He has been an officer for 13 years. We have been married for 13 years. He currently works 6am-6pm. He also is a typical cop. Suspicious of everyone, most friends are cops, and never talks about work except to other cops. Isn't that what they teach them in the academy? Shut up, shut up, shut up.

Checking in...........

Dh is a State Trooper here in De. He's been here for 7 years but was a police officer for almost 10. He loves what he does, but has always wanted to be a FBI agent. Hopefully it will happen in the next couple of months (has been a 4 year hiring process).

Hi Tevagirl!!!!!

Cop family...father, brother and husband.

My DH has been on for 21 years and is counting the days to retirement.
