Simpsons Ride???

Is this ride like the men in black where you are stationary in a car? Is this on tracks, is this a rollercoaster inside???

I was at US several years ago and Jaws and Back to the Future was not operating so don't know what BTF was like in comparison to Simpsons.

It's similar to Jimmy Nuetron (Hanna Barbera), except that partitions are built around your vehicle that make it extremely hard to see the other vehicles. Each vehicle holds 8 passengers: 4 in front row and 4 in back row.

Part of the simulation is a roller coaster ride, but its on a stationary car - its a lot of fun and keeps you laughing (if you like the Simpson's style of humor). People you have motion sickness have problems with the ride.

It's a stationary car, but it's like a smaller version of Star Tours at MGM. The car moves to make the visuals seem very real. Lots of fun!

Is there a chicken exit so one can go through the queue but drop out before getting in the vehicle?

I think I've got my nerve up to try it this year, but I'm certain my husband won't go on it. It would be great if he could walk through the queue with me.

yes, chicken walk is available and used by many.........
no problem to use it.
let the TM know when you enter the car room and you can exit that room.
but wait and see what happens in that holding room.
you can exit once you leave that room for the car.


the waiting area before you are assigned the room/car, is a lot of fun.
i went thru it twice last october in order to catch the entire spiel there.

Honestly, the ultimate "chicken exit" for the Simpsons Ride is to just close your eyes if you don't like it. Since you aren't actually moving (like on a roller coaster) and are just watching a movie if you close your eyes you'll be fine. The car rocks and shakes but it isn't actually "moving". I have trouble with motion sickness and my fall back if it starts to get bad is to just close my eyes. Now, if you are on Rip Ride Rockit there is no turning back once you get on the ride. In that case the chicken exit comes in handy.

I have never been great on simulators................ but this one took the biscuit. I felt really ill. I did try to close my eyes......but that seemed to make it worse ............. The poor TM thought I was going to pass out when I came off and had to shout the family who had wandered out ahead of me.
I was a very unpleasant shade of green for a good few hours

I love this ride,but at times it is intense.I get alittle woozy on it sometimes where closing my eyes don't help.But its no worse then Spidy,maybe rougher..

We headed into the queue yesterday, but even I chickened out and turned back. I'm glad I did after reading the last few posts!

I do not handle simulators well at all. I hated BTTF, Star Tours and the old Body Wars at Epcot. We tried another simulator ride at Kennedy Space Center last year because the attendant told us it was a gentle rolling, and they had a chicken button inside the car which we could press and stop it at any time -- which my husband did about half way through.

I don't think closing my eyes would work, because I cannot stand the jolting movement and feel like I'm getting whiplash on that type of ride. So as much as I love the Simpsons and would have liked to give it a try, I think I'm best off passing this one.

I can just barely manage Spiderman. My husband went on Spiderman once but now sends me alone if I want to go.

I Recently, never been to that place ..But I Planning to go there next month with family...
Reading some of the post i get an idea about that ride....

Absolutely...you can even go into the holding room to watch the video in there then as the doors open into the garage, just exit out into the hallway with the guests getting out of the ride vehicle.

Sure, every ride/attraction in every theme/amusement park has a so-called chicken exit. You can enter the queue, enjoy any pre-shows, and keep the rest of your party company. Just before boarding the actual ride vehicle/theatre, tell an attendant that you don't wish to ride and he/she will direct you to the exit.

Even after boarding, if you feel uncomfortable, you can still exit. But be sure to make up your mind before the attendant checks your restraints. They often do this very quickly and after that point it may be too late.

The only park I've ever seen a door actually marked "Chicken Exit" is at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City.

The Simpsons RIde is my FAVORITE RIDE OF ALL TIME! (Shhh don't tell Disney).....

It is a simulator ride...and if you think you won't like it ...simply close your eyes!

I thought the Mummy ride was a lot worse. I had no idea it was an inside rollercoaster.

Simpson ride is fun, lots of scenes as if you are on a rollercoaster.

i've ridden way to many coasters in my life and this ride has my number for some reason. I've ridden twice on 2 sperate days and will never ride it again. Dr Doom doesn teven phase me but this one gets me quesy

The Orient Express has been replaced by two rollercoasters over time: Spinning Dragons and The Patriot.

Spinning Dragons is a "mouse" type rollercoaster that zips around a hilly track while spinning. Each car has 2 seats that face inward so that 4 passengers face each other (2X2).

The Patriot is a big ticket rollercoaster. Passengers dangle underneath the track as it performs the various loops and hills.

TimberWolf needs to be dismantled. It was a nice wooden rollercoaster when it first opened but has become extremely rough over time.

Last year, WOF opened a new wooden rollercoaster, The Prowler. I haven't ridden this ride yet, but have heard good things about it.
