Having always stayed at the moderates, which are motel style (individual buildings with exterior room entrances), I'm confused about the Poly longhouses. From what I've read, all rooms are accessible through interior hallways. So, here's my question are the longhouses like mini-hotels (without the lobby, etc.)?

A very apt description!

The three newer longhouses actually have smaller seating areas, too. Sort of mini-lobbys if you will.

Now I get it! Thanks very much. One more question: which 3 longhouses are you referring to?

Rapa Nui, Tahiti, and Tokelau were built later. The rooms are a little bigger, hallways are wider and they have these little lounge areas. I think most have double sinks, too but we're usually in accessible rooms at Rapa Nui that have only a single sink.
