I understand that pool hopping has sparked many debates. I think I understand all the "rules" such as you must be a member staying on points, call first before hopping, some pools may be closed to pool hopping, etc.

If we are staying at VWL, can we hop over to the Poly to swim one afternoon??? I'm not sure if pool hopping is meant only for DVC pools or any pool on property.

Not trying to spark a debate, my kids asked if we could go to the Poly and I didn't have an answer for them!

Thanks!

No, they aren't. The Swan & Dolphin are not owned & operated by Disney.

Thanks for the info! I knew that AKL was not included. My kids crack me up..they just want to swim in that Poly pool!!!! I don't quite understand why it is such a big deal to them. I think they are part fish.

It's any WDW except AKL....but there are certain "blackout dates" around all the holidays when pool hopping isn't permitted. They also ask that you call the resort where you plan to "hop" first, just in case they have capacity issues that day.

The Lava Pool at the Poly is great. We went there this summer while staying at OKW. I called the desk to ask if they were allowing pool hopping that day and got a very pleasant person saying, "we would love to have you come over!!" Got there and it was a blast that day. Everyone had a good time and the pool was not very crowded at all.

Just be sure to call ahead and this should clear up any potential miscommunications....

Have fun!!

Can someone give details on the Poly Pool? My daughter is 4 and we have never pool hopped there. Maybe we will try it this trip. Is it nice for a younger child?

We poolhopped to the Poly our last trip. It has a zero entry just like walking into the water at the beach. It also has a waterfall and a tube slide. The water is pretty powerful coming down the water fall but your daughter could walk under it and play with the water as it splashes down. I don't know about letting her in the water by the water fall. It would probably push her under water. I don't know if she would be too small for the slide. She might even be afraid because it is a dark tube you go through. Otherwise it is nicely themed and a fun pool.

Glad to hear some news about the Poly pool. We'll be going to VWL for 2 weeks in June (our first trip "home"), and I know my kids (ages 9, 5 1/2, and 4 1/2) would love that pool. Can anyone tell me if they allow swim-trainer vests on the "tube slide" that I read about? My two youngest were still wearing their vests in our pool at the end of last summer for the deep end, but were beginning to experiment with swimming vest-free with close supervision z(as in hands-on!!). I know last year SAB would not allow them to come down their "tube slide" with the vests and would not allow you to be near the end to "help" them when they came out.
