I need to bounce this idea off. I don't know if this is something that could be considered and how bad it would look.

Would planning a wedding ceremony, followed by a cake with an actual sit down dinner be something that could be done?

I'm definitely putting the horse ahead of the wagon on this one, but after reading all the threads on here, wondering if this would be an option. I have only a handful of VERY close friends and tho I have a large immediate family, my other's family is quite small and he also has only a handful of very close friends.

We have been talking about having an outdoor, Disney themed ceremony with some Disney decor. What we will be doing is a smaller, private ceremony preferably on a gold course where the scenery will be fresh and green etc etc.

I have never been an big attention type gal, neither is he and never liked the idea of wedding fatherings(I am so sorry if this sounds bad).

Now my question is this, do you see it as possibly duable to set up a wedding ceremony outdoors, with the cake off to the side. Likely do the ceremony followed by a family/close friend gathering (on the same location) for cake, no dinner.

I am so sorry if this sounds absolutely ridiculous. I'm hoping for some suggestions and opinions. I have never seen it done this way and probably for reasons I am over looking.
Thanks for all the input everyone, I really appreacite it. :worship:

Hey there! It is COMPLETELY doable! Disney has 4 wonderful locations you can hold your wedding at if you're an Escape bride. One popular location is Sea Breeze Point which is an outdoor gazebo-type location and has the short cake/champagne ceremony at the same location. That's what I'm doing! Also we're having a Dessert Party at Epcot that night which will come out to around $1,000 extra. Basically we're doing that INSTEAD of a reception. But you could definitely do just the ceremony and cake-cutting/champagne reception. If you're worried about your guests not feeling like they did enough while they were there, don't be. Disney is an experience unto itself. You can even plan a "Magic Kingdom" day or "Epcot" day and just do the parks with all of them. The point is to spend some time with your friends and family. I highly recommend doing what you're comfortable with! :goodvibes HTH!!

OH and check out http://disneyweddings.disney.go.com/ for all of the locations and ideas! I also recommend reading other bride's Planning Journals and Trip Reports!
